Help - second house stuck on island

My little brother had a second user on my switch and had a house, however he got his own switch and started a new game. I deleted his user off my switch but I forgot to delete his house in the game first, and his house is still there with no way to delete it properly.
Is there a way to still get rid of it or is the house now stuck in limbo on my island forever?

I think you can delete it with your main character by talking to Tom Nook in the parameters (by pressing - at the title screen)
