[HELP] Question about having 9 villagers and a missing personality type

Kitt is going to be moving out of my town in a few days and once that happens, I'll be down to 9 villagers.
Right now I'm missing a snooty in my town. Will the game automatically fill out the snooty spot (in which case I could just reset for Bree - my dreamie snooty) or is it very likely that I'll just get a voided villager to fill up that spot?
I hope this is clear. I know that with a new town the game ensures that you get every personality in your town, but I'm not sure how it works in the game later on so any help would be appreciated.

If I'm thinking correctly, you get to pick the tenth villager by either campsite or another town.

I think to be able to cycle through snooty villagers, a snooty would have to have been second to last to go. It's confusing as to how it works.

I had to get rid of a smug, then someone else moved out after and only then I could cycle smugs.

That would have been the case in my town since Willow was my last move out (next one is Kitt who is a normal). However, I'm not sure if the game automatically assigns a snooty once you already have 9 villagers.

Yes, that's correct but by my question I'm implying that I wouldn't be adopting anyone, which is why I was wondering if the game would automatically fill in the last spot with a snooty personality as that's the one I'm missing or if I could potentially get a voided villager.

The tenth villager will not be randomly generated, so the reset trick for Bree won't work. You may be able to reset for her in the campground, but it may take forever!

Only way to get a tenth is via spotpass, asking (campground/ boxes), or visiting a town with a recent void.

If you have 9 villagers the game won't generate a new villager, you can only get a 10th from the campsite, another villager, streetpass or occasionally from wifi-ing with someone who has recently voided a villager

so if you want to fill your 10th slot with a snooty you'll have to adopt one or else have another villager move out and the game should generate a snooty to fill that 9th slot

Ahh, okay. Thanks, guys. That's actually what I thought but I wasn't a 100% sure.
Better start looking for Bree then!
