How is this bad? It's helping protect people. For instance, one time when I was little, we were visiting family in England. My sister got very sick and had to stay at a hospital. If they didn't have free healthcare, we would've been out 7,000 pounds.Bacon Boy said:OSHI- Well, there goes America.
Look at Canada. That's the kind of healthcare we're heading towards with this bill. It takes them months, sometimes years to get treated for something. You can end up waiting a long time to see a public doctor. And there are very few public doctors. Here is video about this:pear40 said:How is this bad? It's helping protect people. Basically, if the government doesn't think you're illness is dire, you'll have to wait to see a doctor.
Nope. The healthcare bill is run by the government. They want our healthcare to be like Canada's.pear40 said:This isn't Government run though, it's a company.Bacon Boy said:Look at Canada. I think it can work if done right, for instance, most of Europe.
At least it's an option. If it doesn't go well, it can just be shut down without much of a problem. But if it's successful, it can be expanded upon.Bacon Boy said:Nope. It's not successful. What's wrong with the healthcare we have now? If some people can't afford it, have government funded doctors that work for the people for free. But why should we have to be forced to change doctors because the government wants us to.pear40 said:At least it's an option. Stop being picky. You're like a five year old, if you can't get it your way you refuse to accept it. It's a recession, people can't afford to pay insane prices for healthcare.Bacon Boy said:It's not successful. What's wrong with the healthcare we have now? @Nin: There will be fewer private doctors if this bill gets passed.
Everything. A simple surgery can cost you $30,000. Having a few medical problems can destroy a person financially for life.Bacon Boy said:It's not successful. @Nintenmad- You're 100% right.
I'm having surgery next summer, and if I don't chose a time soon, I won't be able to have it because it's not a medical issue right now. My insurance would not pay for it, so it would be a non-option for me and I would have to live with it.
That is what would happen if the healthcare bill is passed.
My dad had an Appendectomy and it cost $30,000.Bacon Boy said:Your statistics were off.pear40 said:Everything. A simple surgery can cost you $10,000.
