Have you noticed a change in Blathers' dialogue when donating a bug ?

Hello everyone !

I'm playing the game in French and with some players we noticed that Blathers say now a different thing when he takes our bug after his explanation.

Before the update he was saying "[...] but I'll take care of your vile minibeast" (and it was funny because there was a rhyme), and now he says "[...] but it's my duty to take care of it" (and it is not funny anymore).

Is it the same thing in other languages, maybe to show some evolution towards Blathers phobia (even if it doesn't seem to be the case 😅), or does the French version is the only one to have been modified for no reason ? 🙁

In english he said something along the lines of "Even though bugs are bane of my existence, I will make sure the vile thing has the best treatment". Sadly I don't have any new bugs to donate to see if there was any change!
Btw I speak french, can you post the original dialogue? I'm curious haha

I haven't donated anything new to him in a while so I wouldn't know. Hope to find out soon.

Donating a bug now just to see.

He said: "and though bugs are the bane of my existence, rest assured the wretched thing will get the best of care here."

so no change in English

He calls them minibeasts in the French version? That’s adorable. I haven’t donated him any new bug after the update. I haven’t noticed anything different in his dialogue besides the mention of art section as of now, but I will keep my eyes on dialogue when I do donate a new bug.

I'll check it out, as soon as I catch a new bug. I really hope they didn't change any dialogue cause I love listening to him go off on how much he hates bugs; although, it would be weird if it was only the French translation.🤔

Oops, someone already checked it, and it didn't change. Yay for Blathers bug rants!

The original dialogue was : "Certaines créatures me font dresser des aigrettes sur la tête, mais je prendrai soin de ta bébête infecte." Which was cool because "aigrettes, "tête", "bébête" and "infecte" were rhyming 😢

Now it is : "Certaines créatures me font dresser des aigrettes sur la tête, mais il est de mon devoir d'en prendre soin." There is no more rhymes in the second part of the sentence and the "vile thing" is lost...

Yes I can understand not many people have found new bugs since yesterday ahah

He said "bébête" which is from "bête", that can be used for any animal or insect, but doubling the first syllab makes it "cutter" in some way ahah 😆 and I found "minibeast" when I was looking for a translation for that 😊

The old text has so much personality, sad that it's gone. "Bébête infecte" sounds so sassy!! Also the "some creatures make my head plumes go up" made me grin haha

Yes, we don't understand why it's gone. There was nothing offensive or whatsoever 😅 It had the same meaning as "vile thing" and it was funny 😢

Museum's closed today, so I haven't had a chance to check. I almost feel bed for asking to hear about bugs when I donate.

Almost.
