When I was working on starting my third town (StarFall) and deleting my second town (Belcroft) three months ago, I found some interesting things that you may not be familiar with.

  1. The maximum number of items you can order at once is 80, but you can't get it all at once.
  2. You cannot order from your catalog in others' towns.
  3. You can earn the shopping badge by shopping at others' towns. I bought several GracieGrace items from Belcroft with my character from StarFall and got a golden shopping badge from it.
  4. You can pay off remodeling debts at your own house if you haven't paid all your debts, but own an ABD. You can pay your debts at others houses too (if they own ABDs).

Do you have any other interesting discoveries you made?

I didn't know that you can only order 80 items, but yep about the getting them thing, since you only have so many slots in your mailbox!
2-4 are known by me, but still interesting to think about!

A fun discovery I made a while back is that, if you talk to Lyle when shops are under construction, he'll make small-talk with the player and Nook about the shop.

I didn't know number one! Interesting! I also didn't know about Lyle! I am really looking forward to other people commenting on these threads! Cant wait to try this stuff out for myself!

I'm just sad I found out late into the game. I was already done with my Emporium. I'm only missing Katrina now, so I guess I'll get to do this twice. ; A;

I only made dumb discoveries like you can use the watering can while sitting or you can cast your fishing rod into the pond beside the museum. ;;

Yes those are the kinds of discoveries I make.

And by accident, never on purpose.

OH, I almost forgot. You can throw fish off the cliff. c: I made a thread about it a couple days ago.
It's fun. ^^

I actually do this to some of the river fish I don't like. I release black basses and carps into the ocean from the diving cliff.

Oh cool! I've gotten the "small talk" option with Lyle before but didn't know the requirements to trigger it.

I'm probably really late on this one, but I discovered recently that villagers will sometimes stop and read the bulletin board (see Kyle in the first pic in my sig). I didn't notice this until I started my second town because in my main town I had a bush in that spot for like, a year. I took it out and now I catch them reading it once in a while, sooo cute. :blush:

They've done this in my town, too! It's funny because I never have anything written on the board. xD

I'm not sure about how accurate this is, but it was right on the money for me...

If you're having trouble catching a fish that spawns where the river meets the ocean, go diving around that area. Swim out and swim back (far enough for the spawn to change, but you don't have to go TOO far) and almost every time, something will have spawned there. I caught a king salmon this way and proceeded to catch 7 more, plus some normal salmon and char. I told my friend about it and she tried it, since she was having trouble catching the king salmon, and she also told me that it worked for her just like it did for me.

This could be just coincidence, but it worked really well for me, so I thought I'd share.

I found out a few months ago that you can hit villagers while they're sitting on stumps or benches. When I did this it was pretty shocking haha :rolleyes: They won't get mad at you but they'll make a shock emotion when you hit them.

I have screenshots too that I'll post later :)

(1) If you use the net/tweeter glitch and go behind the garbage can on Main Street (where the Fortune Shop would be) and press A in front of the "door" you get an interesting message. :)

(2) When a villager is sick, you can easily cure them by:
Time Traveling back to a day where they were not sick.
Making a new character.
:o

(3) You can plant trees and bushes next to Cobblestone! (but not if it's next to the train/fence)

(4) If you pay your mortgage, ask Nook to expand your home, and TT backwards a day, your house won't be expanded, but you will still have a loan!

(5) Some beaches are messed up, if you plant a banana, you get a coconut tree, and if you plant a coconut, you get a banana tree...has happened to my friend :p

(6) Villagers will not fall into pitfalls when you have visitors in your town. :)

(7) If you trip while holding a balloon, it will fly away :(

(8) You can Time Travel ahead as far as you want without any move outs if someone asks to move out.

When I got a whole bunch of bells I didn't know you got interest, and because of my ten mill at that time I got 52.000 bells
