So, being Animal Crossing and all, I was under this ridiculous impression that people online would be really nice (because it's such a fun and innocent game and all). I met this person on Club Tortimer who stole about 400,000 bells off me, along with three Jacob's Ladders and one of my two blue roses. I guess it was partly my fault, but has anyone else had a really bad experience with someone they met?

No, because I never go on Club Tortimer that much.
Sucks on what happened to you though. :(

I have had loads, people starting tours but not going so you can't leave! OK if I'm playing with my 3DS as I can flick wifi button but if I'm on my 2DS I have to wait, so annoying. Also people inviting you on a tour and then jumping off seat at last min so you are on your own. People asking if they can try my crown on and then not giving it back and people just being really rude. There are some nice people though, I have met some really lovely folks.

I've been to CT a few times since, and I haven't had an experience like that since, but it did ruin my faith in people for a little while.

I've never had a bad experience, but someone I know went to club tortimer and this guy kept swearing at them.

That would be pretty bad. I always struggled with WW to find another person to connect with (since barely anyone I knew had it). Heaps of people seem to have New Leaf. I started playing when I was about nine, so to me it's just a harmless game. I can't believe how mean some people can be. It annoys me.

Nothing bad has never happened to me there, I always just ignore people who want money or items from me. Once one girl called me a bitc h though when I didn't give her money haha :D

i never had a bad experience, i just found it really boring and my social skills are horrible so i always felt uncomfortable talking to people. i restarted my town and probably won't be buying a ct membership haha.

that's quite unfortunate.

i've bought the CT pass but i haven't really found much use for it. i merely end up wasting bells and time island hopping, endlessly hoping for that silver axe or kitchen island. i try very hard to just pop in and out and not converse nor interact with anyone on the island save for a 'hey.' too paranoid about that sort of thing, and people in general haah

I went to ct once, and a boy wanted me to do a tour with him.I accidently jumped off the seat.I still feel bad about that, and it was about a year ago.

The rude people don't bother me.I can always flip the wifi if needed, or just leave.I actually find the rude ones to be a bit entertaining.Although, I think I would be annoyed if I had a 2 ds and couldn't flip the wifi.

I sorta had a bad experience, i was on ct island hopping and giving away 1mil bells to random people, telling they i had a present for them. this one guy was excited when i said i had a present, then once i put down the money he got angry and was like 'i dont want your f****** money, i have enough this is stupid blah blah" so i was just like "okay? are you sure?" and they got angry again but took it anyway... it was weird, i was just trying to be nice!

That's so rude! If I had plenty of money and wanted to turn it down, I'd just thank the person offering me the money and tell them they'd be better off saving it for someone who needed it more. If I didn't, I'd thank them politely and take the money. I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

Worst for me was an island with one Japanese player who had cut down all the trees and was just standing around motionless. Waste of my time.

Aww, that's too bad! :( I don't go on Club Tortimer too much and I've never had to deal with terrible people, luckily. If I ever met someone that was being rude, I would just flick the WiFi switch. Club Tortimer needs to be a safe place for people to play.

I don't get bad experiences: I get silly experiences. I can't even recall well enough to explain one such experience, but a female player kept repeating the same phrases, one phrase being in Japanese, then standing next to me while I sat on a chair. She would just stand there and stare. I was curious to see how long she intended to continue this routine, so left the 3DS open while heading out. When I returned, she was still there repeating the phrases.

one of my bad experiences on club tortimer was when the island was set to like 5AM and I wanted to catch bugs but they kept cutting down the trees and saying that the trees belonged to them. and they scared away my bugs.

>decide on a whim to go to CT
>toy hamemr in shop
>buy 2
>error on exit
>island hop for an hour and never spawn that island again

Kapp'n should refund your money on error

There was one time a player kept trying to sell me regular flowers on their island .___. For like 1000bells each or something...I kept saying no thank you I already have lot of flowers and the person even lowered the price to 500 bells and won't stop begging me.. Told me like '"Red pansies are must haves in your town! Why won't you buy them??" XD it got so annoying so I left.. When I was talking to go home she kept begging not to leave...xP
