Have you had a bad Club Tortimer experience?

The last couple of weekends I've arrived to fighting and swearing. Looked at the TPC and it's a newbie.
One player was swearing at another player. Moved to cutting trees and than ran to open a tour.
Said no one could go and kept typing error. Said that our game would be hacked.
As this went on I blocked the player and than said I'll hit the switch. Other players said please don't so I waited a little and than hit the switch. Sad for the other players that lost items but wasn't sticking around.

I've had players cut all the trees down and than try to chop my head with their axe. One time I typed cool and the player used the angry emotion and left. Another one started a tour so I couldn't leave. He walked up to the door and started changing clothes. It was odd. Blocked and hit the switch.

I've arrived to find people sitting in the chair. I couldn't go on a tour and had to leave.

I've had more good times than bad ones. I try to go to the island late at night.

I don't know if this counts as a 'bad experience,' but the last time I went to Club Tortimer, which was last Summer if I remember correctly, I arrived at the island to check the gift shop for anything worth buying with my medals. There was this big piece of furniture item there, so I typed out something like, "What the hell is this?" Not too sure. Could've been something else. Some other player was already there, a boy, and he came up to me and I THINK he told me not to curse. Since I apparently ruined any chance of a nice conversation after that, I said my apologies and left.

99% of my other experiences were with people who'd just keep to themselves.

I've gone very few times, but one time I did a guy cut down all the tree's on the island, then the other two players were having some sorta' romantic dirty chat? Not sure how they managed that, but to say the least, haven't gone back since. >_<

My bad experiences have just been with people flicking the wi-fi switch for no reason. I really wouldn't care normally, but it almost always seems to happen when there's something rare I need to buy on the island. The worst was when there was a yellow aloha shirt and I think a ship in a bottle that I needed, and the guy on the island was just trying to scam me out of my crown. It's more annoying than anything. I don't really use club tortimer unless I need medals and I don't like the tours on my own island, anyway.

I've been there a few times and seen young girls flirting with the boys.It seems like they were all 10 years old.lol.Anyway, it really bothers me.One even gave her phone number.Sooo stupid.I think the worst is when the males flirt with me.

This seems to happen nearly every time I go, though the dirty chat is usually less common. Usually it's the 12 year old girls flirting with me which is very disconcerting. I bumped into a 12 year old and a 13 year old who'd decided they were a couple within 2 minutes of meeting, and then the 13 year old boy decided to act "the big man" by using insult after insult at both me and another girl, both of us who were there before him, eventually the other girl got tired of being called names and she disconnected. I go straight back online and I bump into another two who've "got together" and decide they're going to start talking about anime(yay...).

I can't really complain though, I have more good experiences than bad experiences, just those type of encounters described above drive me mad.

Just last night, a girl on the island asked me for bells. I lied and told her I didn't have very many bells to give her, and she seemed to understand. Then she asked if I'd be her boyfriend.

I then promptly flipped the switch.

Just once but not really bad just inconvenient.
After earning a bunch of medals and buying some island rares I was just about to leave when someone else came in. They started a long tour but wouldn't go until I went with them. I didn't have the time to but I didn't want to lose my stuff if I disconnected. They were Japanese so we communicated through Shrunk's emotions since neither of us shared a common language. I just ended up doing the tour as quickly as possible. They were really bad at it and barely moved. I kinda had to play for the both of us.
90% of the time no one is on CT which is fine by me since I just want to see what's for sale.​

One time I went to CT for the sake of beetle/shark catching, and I had the basket nearly full. A girl started a tour and wouldn't leave, and kept following me everywhere and saying really strange things. I didn't want to flip the WiFi switch and lose everything that I had worked for. I finally convinced her to let me go, but it sucked.

I went onto CT and there was a guy from the US. He said he was 23 and was at college. So, we played a tour and I headed to talk to Leilani again since I was sleepy and I wanted to leave. Then he writes "WTF THAT'S NOT FAIR" then flips the Wi-Fi switch before I had time to explain that I was just going home. I wasn't expecting a 23-year-old adult to flip out like a toddler...

The moment I had caught a golden stag, a player reset their game, causing me to lose it. There was also a time I had to explain to a French girl I wasn't interested in forming an intimidate relationship with her, and I am occasionally harassed for wearing a dress.

Wow, they all just sound really weird, and annoying. I've never come across people trying to get together over CT. People have also been rude to me about what I was wearing or the way my hair was done, but that's just people, I guess. Most people just leave me to what I need to do and go. I don't understand people that catch bugs/ fish on CT, though. If you're on your own island, there's no one to hit the wifi switch or cut down trees or scare away bugs/ fish or whatever, plus no connection errors. I'd prefer to just use the regular island for stuff like that. I only look for CT if I'm looking for something in particular.

Well, I actually tend to alter the island so more beetles appear, and, I'd rather not mess up my own island, so, it's good for that.

The first and only time I experienced a "horror-story"-type experience is when I figured out how to disconnect. Only it was with the power switch. Anyway, I went there, and some guy began bypassing the filter and...it was horrible.

Now? My motto for CT is "If ya can't beat em, flip the switch or join em."

Some guy asked for my FC, I told him no, and he started swearing at me. He then apologized and then disconnected.
I haven't bought a Club Tortimer pass in my new town, though. It's not that I don't want it, I just don't ever go to the island.

Oh yeah, definitely. I decided to try to play with the world once, huge mistake. I got this dude from Japan that first asked for my age right away.
Me: "24".
Him: "Oh, you're old".
Me: "Not that old o.o, ACNL is not just for kids. Even my 58 year old mom plays it".
Him: "You're right. I'm 43, but I'm used to finding younger girls on here".
Me: "Oookie dokie. Well, sorry to disappoint. Want to play an island game?"
Him: "Mind if we just talk for a bit?"
Me: "Sure. What's your favorite feature in the game?"
Him: "Not about the game. Where do you live?"
Me: "Sorry, but I don't give that information out to strangers"
Him: "Ok, then maybe we can become not strangers."
Him: "Do you like Japanese guys?"
Me: "I don't see how that's any of your business"
Me: "You obviously don't want an innocent friendly chat. Do you want to just play an island game?"
At this point I'm questioning why the **** I'm still on this island talking to this creep.
Him: "This is why I prefer younger girls, they're friendlier"
Him: "You're too old and used up"
*I leave* I don't even bother to walk to the exit, I just flick the wifi button and get out of there like it was all a nightmare.

I haven't been on the Club Tortimer Island since. Maybe I'll play within the US again. I remember meeting some friendly peeps a few times ^.^

Thankfully no, I haven't. However some stories I've heard are beyond rude. How can anyone be that mean on a game, geez ;.;

These stories are the reason why I'm terrified to try CT, but I did consider trying it out right before bulldozing my island to make beetle hunting easier. RiceBunny's experience puts me off especially though, yikes.
