I only have one so far - from my starter jock Antonio! He's gone now because I replaced him via amiibo a day after he gave me his photo haha. ;; Anyway, I'm planning on collecting the photos of my current islanders so I'm not going to be letting go of anyone soon! I think I'm pretty close to getting some of their photos already, but aah who knows. I'm not really that consistent with gifts but I do try to talk to them every day! That, and sometimes I also try writing them letters (in hopes of getting art tbh haha).

Congrats! I got my first picture yesterday after giving wrapped fruit everyday

Right now, I think I just don't give them enough gifts (as I really don't want them to fill their cute houses with bugs/fish and gifted furniture... Marshal, why did you have to put the sea bass I caught by your request on display...).

I haven't gotten any yet, but I don't play the game with the intention to complete everything so I mostly just gift my villagers things I think they'll like whenever I think about it. I'm sure it'll happen eventually, but I have no idea when! And when it does it'll probably be Merengue first because I love giving her cute furniture and red and white outfits.

I have gotten Kody and Drago's pictures but thinking of going slow for my other villagers in terms of gift-giving since getting their pictures after a longer period makes me feel like I deserve it more!

i think so. because with furniture gifts i think their preferred style trumps cost of the item. and i feel like we don't have a complete database yet of preferred villager gifts (there also used to be list of items they don't like for new leaf). i think there is a website for this, just not yet complete i think. foreign fruits are definitely easier to give and you don't have to worry of them changing their interior so much.

Yeah I dont like to give them items that will clutter their house. So far I only given them wreaths. I will try and give them foreign fruits now. Thanks for the advice.
