Have you ever gotten bored of it and stopped playing?

I think I may be a little burnt out on ACNL. I did a lot with my town in a short amount of time and got bored. I restarted my town hoping to get myself interested again, but I am not motivated to do anything with it. Has this happened to anyone else?

Honestly my favorite part of this game has been finding this community and getting to know and help people here. Maybe I will turn my town into a cycling town and just do that. I'm not sure yet.

Yeah, I don't find myself playing the game that much anymore. I visit my town once a week now.

Yeah.. quite a few times, actually. It can be for huge periods Id short ones, it varies. You can see on my town tree thing where the one to four month gaps are xD but I become addicted the same amount so its equally balanced

Yeah
As for me I just stop the last one who want to move
And save and quit and take a break until I want to play again

I was obsessed with this game a couple months ago, it's all I'd play. Then I kept growing more and more uninterested in playing my towns. Then once I got into Overwatch, that was it, there was no escape. That became my new obsession VERY quickly lol. Now I only get on AC once a week to make sure my villagers don't move away.

Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Since my town has just been restarted I haven't done much to it and there isn't anything to maintain really. I'm not attached to any of it. I think another thing might be that there is too much freedom. I need some sort of goal to work toward or I get bored. I can play Pokemon games for a long time because I want to complete the pokedex, and I can play Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons because I want to get married and have kids. I wish there was some sort of game-given goal. :C

All the time. I usually take 3 month breaks in between my spurts of addiction to this game.

yeah, i have periods where i play it for hours a day, then i take a break for a while and repeat

Another thing that hurts the game in my eyes is the real time aspect and that villagers can leave and the town can get messed up if you don't play often enough. I wish I could just take a break without worrying, but I could come back and have lost all of my favorite villagers. :C

Sometimes.. first I took a 3 months break or something... now I'm back after a year hiatus or something. That I stopped playing had also to do with the fact that I completed my town on the outside, but had yet 1.5 houses to decorate. I'm really fond of landscaping, but less so of interior decorating. Might be good I didn't buy happy home designer -_-

Well, as a frequent time-traveler, there are ways to mitigate certain things. For example, if you have Beautiful Town ordinance in effect, your flowers will be OK while you take a break (though you'll have pull a bunch of extras up). And if you stop someone from moving out, it won't choose the next mover until the next time you play, so as long as you take the time to find someone thinking of moving before you take your break, you won't lose any villagers.

I second the Beautiful Town ordinance being a life saver; I time-travel a LOT and it keeps my hybrids completely safe. The other day I time-traveled to spring to get something from Gracie's shop and everything was still okay.

As for the original topic, it takes a lot to keep me interested in the game. I find that I tend to play it a lot in Summer and then taper off in Fall. I wish I could find something to keep me more interested year round!

It is good to know that the Beautiful Town ordinance works that well. I will have to keep that in mind in the future! ^-^

I usually play every day for a month or two straight, and then take a 3 month or so hiatus. I think I take more breaks than actually playing the game lol which is why I'm so behind, even though I've had ACNL for 3 years now. Playing a new town helps though, and giving myself goals. I cannot play without TTing because I get too bored, but maybe one time I'll focus on TTing to buy saplings and landscape my town, or sometimes I'll TT to find items etc. This forum kind of helped before to get me online and play with other people, but it's harder now to find people to play with.

You have to make those goals. Give yourself small tasks that you can do little by little. Don't ever force it thoufh because it will just make things worse. This is also another reason why restarting towns shouldn't be as easy to do. It's not the first time that I have seen someone go through this after they have restarted their town.

I have it happen a few times, the last major one I just took over a month off from it. But I found I missed my villagers in the end so I'm glad I still had my town to go back to. Maybe take a break for now, don't get rid of your town just yet as you may change your mind.
Also, taking a break and not losing villagers is easy :) just remember the date you last played then when you come back to it load up on that date. Go day by day until you find somebody who wants to move, refuse them and then tt back to the correct date. You might have a bit of tidying in your town to do but apart from that :)

I know how to fix this. If you're preparing for a break, get a villager to ping for a move and deny it. Then you're safely able to quit for a long time with nobody movjn out. Alternatively, you could quit and then timetravel to when you last played and nothing will have changed.
