Has anyone ever made fun of you for playing Animal Crossing?

He doesn't make fun of me as such, but my dad doesn't get it and always asks me why I play it when it's so boring (his words, obviously not mine) but I don't care 'cause my brother, mum, aunt and flatmates all play it so yeah :)

I have friends who play Yu-gi-oh and Magic that make fun of me for playing Animal Crossing. I wanted to slap them...because c'mon who plays Yu-gi-oh anymore? /sarcasm >.>

My mother's ex boyfriend made fun of me for playing City Folk. He said it was a kiddie game.
I always hated him anyways so that just gave me another reason.

I hang out with friends of my friends and one day before school they were all playing the new Pokemon. While playing they kept bashing Animal Crossing. I'm scared to talk to them about video games now.

ehh one friend said that they didnt see how the game was interesting at all and you know what i cant even argue lol

Not really. I once told my cousin about it the day I got it, who's one year younger than me. She said that the 3ds wasn't good for the brain, or something like that. She probably meant the 3D part, but I don't even use that. And then her friend got new leaf a few weeks later, and then she has never said anything about it since.

The worst thing is I saw him posting about how great the new POKEMON is on Facebook! ;) LOL like Pokemon is so much more mature just because it has fighting in it.
That's funny, because adult Pok?mon players get the same treatment.
Not that I'm okay with them scoffing at Animal Crossing players. It's stupid that people think some games are for kids. It's also stupid that they think they look cool playing those "mature" games. Talk about closed minded-ness. (Honestly... I was like that when I first saw Animal Crossing on the GameCube. I thought it looked stupid because it looked like it was made for kids. But my big brothers bought it to check it out. I watched them play it... and my mind changed. It looks kind of fun and the Animalese sounds funny. So I tried it... and then I was hooked... See what happens when you give a game you use to hate a chance? :P)

Mine doesn't sound bad... As I play the game in front of my friends, I cheerfully say "Animal Crossing! ♪". Then, one of my friends say "Ugh... I don't like Animal Crossing". I asked. His reason is because the game just... doesn't... END! :P
Nice to know I go to a community college where most 3DS players play Pok?mon... AND Animal Crossing. (Well, most of them stopped playing New Leaf for Pok?mon X or Y.)

i think everyone i know does, in the "nicest" way possible. ^^;;; a few of them do play it with me, but not as much as i do. D: i can see why they would want me to play less since it's all i do in my spare time. orz

I used to feel like that when I played it on the train but now I just think "Well I could be worrying what people think OR I could be doing something productive in my village!" and nobody cares anyway.

I did play Trauma Centre DS on the train once and was using a scalpel on someone's stomach wound and this posh old woman (think snooty villager) just goes "What on EARTH are you doing?!" Made me laugh!

i dont mind playing my ds in public at all because i doubt anyone actually cares
or i dont care if they care

My boyfriend hasn't actually, he did about pokemon lol. He's never serious he's always trying to mess with me. I'm like "uhhh i dont care i like it" or i just ignore him. A lot of my Uni classmates play the game! I've seen them play it between classes and such.

I showed my cousin New Leaf and she wanted to get it but her dad won't get her the 3DS he's worried about the 3D feature for her eyes. So cute so i gave her my WW one instead lol

People usually tell me COD is better. They don't really make fun of me. I know sometimes the people try to start an argument about how xbox is better than nintendo and yadi yada yada. Any game I play though I always hear, "COD is better"....

I have never been put down for it as I normally do not tell anyone I play any other video games but Grand Theft Auto and Halo as I do not want to be put down. I also do not even tell people I play video games as I cannot trust anyone here in Arizona as all I hear about from kids my age is that Call of Duty, drugs, losing your virginity, etc is great. I have a much better outlook on life and know way better than to participate in any of that.

I just don't inform anyone mostly that I play Animal Crossing.

My sister did have a go at me several times in the past for playing, although I found her playing New Leaf on her 3DS a few months ago.......

Never.

But I remember two boys in my class were talking about Animal Crossing. I don't know if they insulted it or not.

Not that I am aware of. Though I get the feeling some of my coworkers think I'm strange for playing it. That isn't anything new though, they are always like that.
