And by that I mean turning your 3DS clock to the next day, instead of waiting. Would this be considered cheating? xD I'm already on July 3rd.

It's not 'cheating', but it IS considered time traveling. I wouldn't ever time travel because I enjoy the slow pace of the game. And moving too fast sucks the fun out of it for me because you'll have already experienced and done everything you wanted to do faster than what's natural.

I did it once, but it was for a very good reason... I spent 10 min making this shirt and when I wanted to show it to my friend who I made it for... it was too late *9pm* >.< So I made it day.. *I consider it cheating >.<*

TTing or Time Traveling. I consider it like half cheating.

Patience is a virtue... That I don't have hahaha. >< This time around I'm just letting the game play out. :)

I kinda think of it as cheating. Only in the fact that people who play normally have to wait for all the really good stuff, while people who time travel just get it right away.

But I would rather wait, it makes the game a lot more fun.

I agree with you.

To be honest I don't really want to time travel, mostly because of weeds and the fact that you've done everything as fast as a flash which spoils the surprises! However I don't consider it as cheating, I guess everyone has there own choice in what they want to do :)

Nah its not cheating. I don't prefer to Time Travel but, its your game and you do whatever you choose to do. Its tempting since winter is my favorite AC season. But don't let others make you feel bad for it. If they didn't want you to do it, they wouldn't let you adjust clock and date

It's not cheating if the game allows you to do it. Sure it sucks the fun out of the game, but some people aren't patient enough for Animal Crossing. Patience is something that is earned with experiences and not everyone has it. This is a game for kids and adults, and luckily Nintendo caters to both.

I really wish there was a Resetti-esque feature for Time Travelling.. I think it sucks the fun out of the game and destroys the object of it, but that's just my opinion, whatever floats your boat lol :)

I time travel, when I want to. I don't think it's cheating, but I don't really care if it is or isn't. It's my game & I'll play how I please.

I used to time travel 5 days and go back when I planted loads of trees but I won't do it with this one

I consider it cheating. But I couldn't care less if someone else wants to time travel or not. Doesn't affect me in any way.

Edit: Also, it's not like it was programmed in the game to be able to time travel. It's not how you're supposed to play. It's just the game following the clock on your 3DS, and you time travel by altering the time on the 3DS. It's not apart of the game mechanics to be able to alter time.

Also just because a game allows you to cheat doesn't mean it's not cheating.

If someone enjoys the game more by time travelling, then they should time travel. The purpose of the game is to have fun, and if you're having more fun you're fulfilling that purpose. I don't see how its cheating because this isn't a competition and it's not affecting anyone else.

BEST POST HERE. :thumbs up: If you're new to the AC series, try to play the game the way it's meant to be played. You'll appreciate what the devs made & your accomplishments will feel all the better!

Woah, slow down there. July 3rd? I'm only on June 20th.

Yes, I TT, but I try to enjoy days as much as possible, while accomplishing what I want to. I always make sure to hunt for the bell rock and 4 fossils first thing in the in-game morning, then head off to Main Street to check out the stocks of the various vendors. Usually, 2 or 3 of the fossils haven't yet been donated, so I make sure to augment my museum's collection. Afterwards, I often walk around my town for a bit, greeting my villagers and seeing if anyone wants to approach me for something.

...Then the quasi-cheating begins. I save and quit, TT to 7 PM the same day, hop on Kapp'n's ferry, and begin the now-well-known exploit of systematically culling rare bugs from the island. Honestly, although I admit that this is some level of cheating, I feel like I wouldn't be enjoying the game if I ran around my town all day, praying for a Dorado in the river or something, so that I could possibly scrape up 50,000 by the end of the day. I've already gotten 4/6 of the extra rooms (with only the back- and right-hand rooms left to build), and then the process of expanding begins. Main Street is finally beginning to flourish, and the first compartment (A) of my storage space is nearly full.

I'm not the sort of person that TT's from Halloween to Thanksgiving, then Christmas to Easter and back again, so that I could pick up all of the special furniture/items. While I abuse the game's inherent features, I enjoy it as much as possible while doing so, and I don't believe that I'm doing anything exceedingly wrong.

I have time traveled in the past, but while it was a blast at first, then I burned out. Each new day forward was a tedious repeat of money rock and fossil hunting. Just keep moving forward looking for the furniture I was after, and always trying to remember the date. Some days I just couldn't work myself up enough to play, and if I missed a day, I might miss an item I was after. So I had to remember the date, so if necessary, I could travel backwards. Rinse and repeat.

Actually, you Time Travel by changing the clock IN THE GAME. Before you start, it's in the options. So you arguement isn't all that concrete there, since it is in the game mechanics.

To the OP, if you time travel to profit off say, the stalk market, or something like that, I think that's the only scenario that would put it in the category of cheating. Even then, it's not something that you wouldn't do eventually anyway. Time traveling is just faster gameplay, that's all. To me it's not cheating.
