Hardest Dreamie to Obtain

I haven't had a dreamie that's hard to get (Apollo, Marshal, and Stitches) UNTIL I added Diva to my dreamie list. So far two people offered her to me, one I wasn't able to read the message until it was too late and the other i had to turn down because Coco moved in via streetpass. Not to mention she isn't popular, so cyclers and people tend to cycle her out :c

Zucker is proving hard to get 
lol Funny, I actually gave my Ankha to someone for free. I didn't mind having her, but I saw this person wanted her more.
Anyways, I think the hardest villager for me to get was Rolf at some point. He kept being auto-voided. Muffy was quite hard getting in the past as well. All of a sudden she's wanted by a whole lot of people, and so she's no longer being given away but selling for 20-30M. I had to give up looking for her for a while, way too many greedy sellers >.<
Well, I have her now, but Phoebe was the hardest to get for me. I swear I was always at school and missed out on her, or I had to pay ridiculous amounts for her. There were even giveaway threads for her where the user refused to give her to me. One user was particularly rude to me in their thread.
It feels so accomplished to have her in my town now, but she was such a pain to get. I'm glad a generous user her helped me out with her ^o^

i remember maple just was not coming up on the boards at all. so when i saw her eventually i just decided i'd get her no matter what price, unfortunately someone else seemed to have the same idea and she ended up costing me way more than all my other dreamies (worth it though, she's a lil sweetie)
Funny cuz I gave away Muffy and no one wanted her. So I voided. XD
Wish I knew she was a wanted villager... Would've given you her for free a week ago but I just voided her.

Even if you miss top tier dreamies, at least you have the possibility to get them. It'll take time and bells of course since they're so popular. However, dreamies that are lower tiered, they are almost never offered. Whenever they are, they're only given maybe 15-30 minutes before they're voided. That's not even enough time for someone to come and claim them especially since time zones is an issue and cyclers just wanna cycle.
I don't check only on here though, I've gotten Bianca (gave the person exotic set) and Pekoe (paid the person 1mil bells) from tumblr, and Tia and Whitney were free on ACC. In order of difficulty in getting them: Bianca ~3-4 months, Pekoe ~3 weeks, Whitney ~1 weeks, and Tia ~4-5 days. These villagers, I was adamant about getting so I definitely took the time and effort to hunt them down and get in on the deal the fastest. The boys always seem the easiest for me to get like with Ken and Walt. They were dreamies, but I wasn't even looking for them yet. Their plots were there one day and in the perfect spots too (well not really, but I worked around them and lucked out either way).
I was so on edge the day I messaged someone about Bianca, you have no idea. I was so excited yet so scared they would back out since people did that before. It was so hard to even find someone who was willing to give her away for something other than other villagers (ugh), it was ridiculous, but so satisfying when I finally got her and plot reset her only 5 times before she was perfectly next to Benjamin.

The hardest are probably the Tier 5 villagers, since they usually get auto-voided by cyclers and people assume there's no interest in them. Finding Freckles was really difficult since I'd always have to wait to be lucky enough to find people who were willing to take villagers out of auto-void or who were advertising that she was up for adoption. Unfortunately, when I found them, I'd usually have a full town. It doesn't help that I have lots of issues connecting to others via wifi. It took me forever to find her.
The one who's next on my list and that will be probably be equally difficult is Tabby.

I agree, tier 5 or so called "unpopular" villagers can be harder to find sometimes because they get voided. If someone doesn't have a cycling thread, but just do giveaways randomly, they may not even put up that villager. And of course, the looking for thread is hit and miss. I use to always look at it before I voided anyone, but not everyone takes the time to do that.
Probably Genji! Spent weeks camp resetting for him, but no luck. Spent weeks looking for him in villager trade places in different sites but I'm always too late (mostly because of timezone differences lol) Luckily I found a person with the same timezone so I was able to get him~
