Happy Holidays sounds dumb. Why not just say the holiday name. Like Merry Christmas, or Happy Hanukkah, or Happy New Year.

Because not everyone knows what holiday you celebrate, so saying 'Happy Holidays' is in general, no need to figure out 'hey...do you celebrate christmas?' It's all the holidays, even works for New Years. =D

I'll settle this right now. Happy Holidays was created so people in stores and such could say that instead of saying Merry Christmas and offending non Christians, see the point now?
