Golden slingshot problem

Hi guys,

Just been playing, as usual But I have a problem..I free up my invent space by putting my items such as spade, shovel etc into past letters sent to me and then I remove them when I need them. Me being the clumsy person I am, I accidentally chucked away one of the letters which had my slingshot in it and flying over me right now is the golden slingshot! Have I lost it forever or can it fly over again?
