Oh wow this is super interesting. I've been hoping there was a little more nuance to the personalities this time around, so I'm glad to see this! I'm going island hopping in a little bit and hopefully I'll run into some lazies so I can help out.
It is possible the guide could be wrong, especially since it doesn't bother to list the personalities to identify it. I've seen pictures of the guide and already found information that contradicts or is lacking when compared to datamined info.
Yeah, definitely. What does the datamined info say about these "sub-personalities"? I feel that my Sherb and Erik are a little different, but then again, Sherb just moved in a couple days ago so I haven't talked to him as much. That's very true, and I think quite likely. I definitely trust the datamined info more than the guide!
I've noticed that Reneigh tends to workout, run, and drink lemonade, while Frita tends to sing and sit under trees. (These are both Uchi villagers). Any correlation? Also, I've noticed some villagers prefer certain activites. My first island had singing by my uchi and normal villagers on a daily basis whilst my 2nd island had none at all despite owning a bunch of normal villagers and an uchi. I came up with the theory that some villagers prefer certain activities after I got Julian and Marina in my 2nd village and predicted them to be singers based off popular clips of the them. Everyday they sing meanwhile my other smug and normal villagers like Huck and Coco, have not sung once. I have noticed that Coco prefers reading and tree examining. Huck is almost always exercising as well, so maybe there's a correlation between the 2 sub personalities and activities.

Aha! Thank you! That's been rectified. You are missing Filbert from your form and spreadsheet by the way--he's been on my island for weeks so I couldn't fill it out, but since he's my lazy, I noticed it.
Just wanted to clarify a little of what is said here.If you look at this spreadsheet, you can check for yourself. Their personality type (music, education, fashion, etc.) is listed under the _9eea1288 column. This likely determines their idle actions (singing, inspecting flowers, reading, working out, etc.), but it could also influence dialogue. Right now there's no sure way to be sure what this sub-personality actually governs, afaik.
Then their talk type can be found under _33af13e1. We don't really know what this setting does, but it's hypothesized that it might affect dialogue.
Also, I've noticed some villagers prefer certain activites.
Yes. This relates to the _9eea1288 column, or "interests". For example, Ninji (dataminer responsible for the recent stuff about redd, leif, etc) looked into this a bit and stated that nature-type villagers are 3x as likely to pause and look to the sky than the other options.I've noticed that Reneigh tends to workout, run, and drink lemonade, while Frita tends to sing and sit under trees. (These are both Uchi villagers). Any correlation?
This was addressed on page 1 of this thread. The dialogue option is there, sans the 'ah!' Please pick the option that says "There's someone on this island! You're here visiting too?! I'm VILLAGER. You're NAME from ISLAND? Neat! I didn't expect to make a friend here! This island is so cool, ."I didn't see this dialogue on the form. When I met Sherb he said "AH! There's someone on this island!" Note: I found Sherb after I got my first campsite villager. I would show you a picture but it says the file size is too large. (If anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me)
Oh thank you! I'm sorry I didn't notice this. This was addressed on page 1 of this thread. The dialogue option is there, sans the 'ah!' I clarified this on the form input page. Because entries have already been submitted with that option, please pick the one that's missing the exclamation. Sorry for the trouble.
You're good!Oh thank you! I'm sorry I didn't notice this.
