So I've been actively trading on this forum and most people are great! But sometimes after talking to some users, they just ghost you after a while as you're trying to trade with them. Just flat out no communication for a day or two or more. This has happened twice for me in the span of 1 week and it's seriously making me angry since I'm holding trade items for days. I know that NH has brought in a lot of new people to the forum but it really dampens my spirits when people would rather ignore you than tell you that they don't want to trade with you anymore.

Has this happened to anyone else?

EDIT: I just wanted to let everyone know that I traded with the person who I thought was ghosting me. Everything is all good now :) I hope everyone else's trades go just as smoothly! Have a great day!

yes! i hate when that happens, it's just rude. i got so fed up with it that i made a rule in my shop that i'm only holding items for 48 hours without notice, once that time is up, your order is voided.

Yep, both regarding items and villagers. Typically they tend to ghost after I make an offer, so I assume I'm simply not offering good enough. I think it's a tad rude though, doesn't take much time at all to send a reply saying "hey, sorry but someone else offered a better deal to me, but thank you for the interest!" or "I was hoping for something a bit more valuable than your offer". It takes all my willpower to not send passive aggressive messages back but I know it's just not worth my time.

I remember someone said they’d buy a villager from me right away, I told them cool and gave them my code and they poofed for like hours. I was worried but then I saw then active again and they didn’t even say anything to me like sorry so
Screw me I guess ;;

I agree that it's super rude! I now put at the bottom of my posts that I'll give negative feedback, but I really don't want to? It really didn't have to resort to this if there was better communication... I just really want a particular item but idk if this ghoster will actually follow through with the trade and it's super annoying

Leave them bad feedback

edit: whoops, didnt see that you ppl already came to this conclusion. sry

Yeah, happened in one of the very first trades I tried to do. Set up an arranged time to try and do it after the first exchange failed (they didn't have a plot available) and it still fell through. Oh well.

Yeah. It has. I just make a mental note of who does it and keep it moving so to speak. I try to make good of all my trades and work around everyone's schedules, that's what feels right to me. Others, I guess not so much. it is what it is though. To be expected from some folks I suppose.

Oh same! I've gotten really nice feedback, like I'm polite and kind, but honestly I'm passive aggressive by nature and it takes so much will power for me as well not to write anything bad back

It really is super rude. It's like people don't have the courage to send a courtesy message of "sorry, I'm not interested in trading any more." Though if you are at the stage of a trade where someone's already ordered items for you, you should honestly just tough it out and go through with the trade. It's called kindness. It's too bad we cannot give these people negative trade ratings

Oh no! That would really suck as a first trade! I hope everything else has been great though! :)

I had someone on this site completely ghost me in a villager trade AFTER I spent hours TTing out a villager to make an open spot.
It was right before the forum construction, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but even after checking in once they were back up (and seeing that they were active on these forums), I got nothing.

VERY disappointing and tbh.. pretty rude in my opinion. Especially since it was a trade for a dreamy of mine. I would have appreciated ANY kind of communication.

I still see the person around and have made a mental note to burn that bridge and not do any kind of business with them again.
Most people have been lovely and accommodating though! :)

The community has really changed quite a bit since NL if you ask me, but the first person that ghosted me literally told me that I should have ignored their trade after I specially ordered items and crafted stuff for them, when I told them I would give them negative feedback

In the end I never did give the feedback, but I was so mad!

Part of me gives them the benefit of the doubt that they have some sort of anxiety. Like something similar to reading emails or answering phone calls. I'm not giving them a pass or condoning them for ignoring on something they've agreed on voluntarily. It still is a crappy thing to do to someone.

Then the other part of me is these people aren't meant to be traders and should just play among themselves or whatever friend circle they got going on.

Oh no! Who was the dreamie? If I have them and I'm not planning on keeping them, I don't mind giving them to you! :)
