Getting rid of a hacked item

So a while ago, someone gave me a rental wetsuit which I didnt think anything of but apparently you cannot get it in your town without hacking. So now I have this hacked item in my town that I cant seem to get rid of. I cant wrap it, I cant sell it, I dont have the garbage pwp unlocked or a garbage can item, implying I can even throw it out.

How the heck do I get rid of it?!?

If you find someone who does hack or is intending on deleting their town, you could drop it off to them so that it can be erased. But other than that, I have no clue. If you can't sell it I don't think you'd be able to throw it out even with the trash bin. Hopefully you can find a way to get rid of it, but if not I'm sure it won't do harm to your town by keeping it. Despite being a hacked item, if it hasn't corrupted your town, it's okay. Kinda like the infinity fruit baskets.

Someone posted that if you wear it to the island it will gone when you return.
Not sure if that is true.

Maybe you can go to a club tortimer island and just drop it on the ground if it doesn't disappear when you arrive at your island.

You could maybe drop it to a mule character, then delete their house? That is if you have space for a mule character

Drop it on the ground, and then have Isabelle initiate a PWP on top of it. You can cancel the PWP afterwards. I can verify that this works! (If you have the police station, though, the item will show up in your lost & found, so that's something to consider.)

I dont have a police station but Im considering getting one in the future. If I put a pwp on top of it now, will it show up in my police station if I build one a few days from now?

That is possible, though I can't say for sure.
SummerHime's idea of starting a mule character, giving the suit to them, and then deleting the mule, is probably a better bet in this case. (If you don't have 4 characters already, of course.)

Considering the fact that it's a rental wetsuit I'm pretty sure it will be gone if you wear it to the island, then take it off (leaving it in your pockets) and then go home.
If that fails, dumping it on club Tortimer should get rid of it too as those islands are randomly generated and deleted.

In other words, I'm confirming the second and third poster in this thread.

Burying items might also help, I doubt that a tree would come out of a hacked item.
Crack spots are usually random and Time Capsules never re-spawn in the same area which they got buried.

I did this and it seems to have vanished! I'll see if it completely worked once I build my police station. If it comes back, I'll try dropping it on CT.
