Getting New Horizons After Release Date

So I know it has been awhile, but I wanted to bring up the fact that many people got ACNH after the release date even though they were supposed to get it on the 20th.

This happened to me in which I pre-ordered on Amazon and it said it would come on the 20th. A day before for 20th, it said it is getting delayed till the 24th. Then suddenly in the 20th it says arriving before 8pm. At this point my hopes got really high, but It never ended up coming that day. Fast forward two days, and I get it the 22nd of March. I was pretty annoyed at Amazon considering I was promised I would get the game release date and that they kept changing the date on me, and that I had literally ordered the game hours after pre-orders went up in July. In the end I am still a bit upset that on my passport it says Match 22nd instead of March 20th. I did end up getting $10 off the game, as I think Amazon got desperate and lowered the price of the game when people realized they would not get the game on release day and started cancelling.

I hope I don't sound greedy and entitled as I know many other people had to wait much longer, and that there was other priorities for mailing, but I know Amazon still shipped out some of the ACNH games to people on release and not others.

What are your experiences if you had to wait for ACNH because of delays

I didn’t want to take a chance and risk the game arriving late, so I went with the digital version instead. If I had been in your position I would’ve been upset too—and I don’t think that’s greedy or entitled at all! Even a day can feel like a long time, especially while knowing that “everyone else” is already playing it.

That said, I don’t understand why having the release date on a passport matters so much. It doesn’t make you look like more of a fan, it isn’t inherently a better day. Any date you start your game on is the perfect, special day imo If anything, having one other than 3/20/20 makes yours more unique!
