I’ve seen a lot of great looking seemingly completed islands on YouTube Island Tours. I’m just genuinely curious if the players are still able to play the game while having those kinds of islands? I’m talking almost every inch of grass covered with paths and / or furniture. Do you have one of those kinds of islands? If so, how are you able to play with all the decorations on the ground? How do you look for fossils? How do you catch things? How will you roll snowmen on Christmas? I’m just wondering how dailies are done on completed islands like that.

I've also wondered this! I saw that video on youtube of the tour of the island which had fake grass covering it along with custom patterns.

Part of mine is super decorated! I keep adjusting minor things to make it flow better as a workable island - doing things like adjusting the size of pattern of the river, adding extra sections, things like that. In NL I also enjoyed changing the decor each season to match the changing colors, so I plan on continuing that!

My island isn't as uber decorated as that, but I can assume they either don't care about finishing the fossil exhibit, or have just traded for/TTed or something to get all of them :p That plus maybe moving some things away during the snow-rolling event stuff.

It's honestly difficult. I had yards in my old island before I reset and it became annoying because I was accidentally grabbing fences when trying to just pick a present up from a balloon, which I had to wait to pass over my decorations lol

I like to saturate sections of my island, and then have full natural sections that are just wild. My town is probably like 15% done, but that is kinda my plan. What I did accidentally do, was plant way too many trees. Had to chop a lot the other day :/

Overly decorated towns/islands can look fantastic if done properly, but sadly in most cases they're done poorly and it can look jarring. I'm hoping I can prove something can be 'overly decorated' properly, due to my background as a hobbyist landscaper.
