complete control of customizing how your village looks would be pretty cool, too
like, obv you would have to earn different things, but being able to describe to whomever in the beginning that you're moving to a town with "grass that looks like circles" and "red fruit" or something would be kinda nice
Agree with pretty much everything posted. I really just want some quality of life improvements, such as being able to stack ores by color like we can with fruit. Also, less restrictive PWP placements!!!! I want to put streetlights next to my benches and of course Isabelle says it's a no-no.
I agree. I'd want to put flower beds next to each other (and I wish the flower beds could hold more). Also, it'd be cool if the villagers' houses expanded over time.
I want the GameCube size towns back! 15 villagers or even 12 would be nice!
More Public Works Projects would be awesome! I'd love a Monkey Bar one and Swing Set one. Also expand beyond the Fairy Tale, Modern, and Zen options. I can't think of any off the top of my head but that would be awesome.
Love reading everyone's suggestions! So many great ideas. Yes to the outdoor patio/room and to beach PWPs, and I really like the idea of choosing your town tree! More spaces for custom designs or QR codes would also be great.
To expand upon what folks have said above about setting plots, as mayor you should have the option to do some basic zoning in addition to ordinances. You could either set a specific area in which you'd like houses to go, or set specific housing plots throughout your town and incoming villagers can choose which plot they'd like. If a villager moves out and cycles back in, it'd be very cool if they remembered living there before. I'd also love it if the NPCs had houses or apartments we could visit.
If visiting campers could wander through your town on the day they're there, that'd be pretty cool.
After seeing a couple of hacked dream towns, it got me thinking it'd be nice to see some stuff in the ponds and rivers, like rocks, water weeds, etc., to give them a bit more life.
And how about a random, travelling salesanimal, who'd show up super-infrequently, but sell DLC from other regions?
^I really like your idea of a a traveling sales animal who'd sell DLC from other regions or that you'd get from Nintendo Zone; I don't have the time or resources to go to Nintendo Zone :/. I have been really enjoying trading with everyone here, so, the only thing behind the concept is if it would take away the fun in trading?
i would love to run my own shop! also the ability to have more of a role as mayor, like screening your villagers and helping them choose where they build their houses. another would be more flower types, and more trees, like willows, and lily pads on your ponds would be so pretty
I think the next game should have a bigger map and you can place where your villagers go instead of them destroying your pathways and designs that took you ages! There should also be a way to place pwp where you want them like on the beach and maybe have a cave or some secret spots that have rare items in them or maybe have other little areas that the villagers can get to like a park next to the town. Also there should be a games room where you do fun mini games to get lots of bells or a mall that has, like every mall does, a clothes shop where has amazing clothes, a furniture shop where theres chairs and tables and have a counter so you can actually buy things by talking to the person behind the counter. Another thing could be that you can talk to the villagers and they respond back to you. And make it easier to move furniture around in your room like in the ac game where you have to do that for villagers.
With the size of the catalog exploding in New Leaf, I'd like to see some changes to make it more feasible to complete it than just hoping that Nook or Able Sisters are carrying the items you're looking for every day or trying to get a ton of items from other people online. There are some possible solutions.
1. Have a good portion of the catalog filled in at the start of the game. Nook and Able Sisters could still carry some seasonal furniture / clothing not in the starting catalog so that they wouldn't be completely useless, but cataloging everything wouldn't be such a pain.
2. Have Nook and Able Sisters carry a fixed inventory every day of the year, so that you can get every orderable item if you play every day for a year.
Any other ideas to make completing the catalog easier?
I hope there's like, a Nintendo person staff who lurks around the internet and forums like this site to get ideas and suggestions from players for additions to the future games lol
