Forum shop: How can the silver mailbox be sold out?!

I finally have enough bells to upgrade my mailbox, only to see that the item is "sold out"! How is this possible? It's a digital good, there is no physical amount that it's limited to. What am I supposed to do now? I can't afford the gold mailbox and I am sick to death of having to decide which messages get the chop every single day just to be able to keep receiving them!
