Fishing or Bug Catching? (or balloon popping)

What do you rather? Fishing is my go to, I rarely catch bugs or pop balloons, but that usually backfires, as I loose the chance for filling out my museum or miss DIYs. Let me know!

Bug catching, I never really liked fishing since you can easily mess up the catch.

but i love bug catching the most because it's so easy, and unlike fishing and balloon popping, i can choose to only go after the bugs that are worth anything. also, i'm only good at fishing when i have the volume up to hear the bobber, but i prefer to listen to my own music when i play, so.

i feel like i run too much and the bugs are easy scared that way, but the waves block me from getting too close so they don't swim away

Fishing all the way. It's literally my favorite activity in New Horizons and any other Animal Crossing game that I've played. Plus, it's even fun to do in real life, but since I don't have any other places where I live to do it, I just basically do it in New Horizons. Also, at least I'm guaranteed to catch something. XD

Yeah, I just ignore those guys and catch everything else, as it makes more bells that way. Since it's summer now, I just mostly focus on the sharks, so I have no problems with the sea bass. I do agree though, they are very annoying and waaaay too common.

They really need to tone down the spawn rate

always hated bug catching probably because I suck at it and always get the angle or distance wrong

Catching bugs because it’s easier, I always mess up while fishing and I get so angry when it’s a sea bass -.-, something about catching bugs is satisfying to me

Fishing is the most aggravating and the funnest, its annoying that sometimes fish just dont reel in when it feels like I've done it fast enough (maybe it's because I play on doced mode and the waves dont reach the switch idk) I like the random chance but sometimes it can be way to much like I spent 400+ fish bait trying to get the mahi mahi but its very rewarding once you finally get it (kind of like shiny hunting in pokemon but very toned down) its nice when your controller vibrates a lot when you catch something size 6!

I fish on the leftmost shore of my island in the evenings. it’s where my dock is and balloons blow in from that side at night, so it’s pretty convenient. I dig for clams and stockpile bait sometimes too.

I love fishing, or I did until NH and it's breakable tools ruined that for me.

Fishing 100%. I have always enjoyed fishing since NL. It’s just so peaceful and relaxing. I just checked and I’ve caught over 500 more fish than bugs.

I HATE fishing in every game lol, but I've always loved bug catching -v-

and balloon popping is fine, but I don't go out of my way to do it

i definitely prefer fishing (especially since it’s now shark season) but balloon popping is super fun! i love the mystery of not knowing what you’ll get ;u;

Balloon popping is the one thing I rarely mess up on now. I have twitchy fingers when I fish and half of the time, I flinch and scare the fish away! I don’t catch bugs enough to get the twitches, but I’m becoming incredibly bad at catching snails on my friends’ islands.
At least balloons have a chance to give me an item I don’t have (or a variant), materials, or bells.

Bug catching! Because I find it more fun. Generally I find bugs more interesting than fish, if that makes any sense. IRL I'd spent a year doing a 365 project and most of my subjects were macro shots of bugs. Jumping spiders, beetles, dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, caterpillars, etc. Fish... I like looking at. And eating. Catching them is not so fun. Maybe I'm just weird.
