When you fish, do you fish better when you're able to hear the bobber get taken?
Or maybe you fish better when you're able to see the bobber get taken?
Or both.
Personally, it's easier for me when I can only hear it. If I'm in a loud place, I always bring my DS up to my ear when I have a fish's attention so I can catch it easier.
Hear. I panic and hit it too early if I try to see if it will go down. I also have to hover my thumb over the button a couple of inches to avoid accidental presses.
Awesome!! It's so great to know I'm not the only one :'D My friend says it's easier for her to just see it...I honestly don't see how. It's so tricky @_@
Mostly hearing, but I do still get trigger happy if I take my eyes from the screen completely, so my method is to look at the screen but look away from the fish and just see it from the corner of my eye. I don't know why that works, but it does.
Most of the time I hear it better. I have even gotten to the point of using headphones if I am exclusively fishing for a while. The neat thing about headphones is that it creates the stereo effect and I can hear direction on things when I'm not fishing too.
I fish by sound. When I see a fish is going towards the bobber, I close my eyes and listen for the plop sound. I've gotten very good at fishing, hardly ever lose a fish/shark.
I too have a tendancy to be a bit jumpy if I look at the fish while I'm fishing (especially if it's going to be a rare one). I usually look away from the screen when I'm fishing
