First job ever?

I recently acquired a new job, which is good in many ways, especially because money. But that got me thinking about when we first started on our journey of becoming responsible adults, forced to deal with rude customers, malfunctioning registers, or coworkers that might inadvertently get on your nerves. What was your very first job like? Did you like working there, do you miss it? Or maybe it's an experience best left in the darkest corner of your memories...

For me, my first job was actually in a candy factory.

...It's not as nearly fun as it might sound.

I think it was as a paperboy. It wasn`t that bad really. No one bothering you and for some small part decide your own hours. It paid really bad, but hey, thats why your a kid, to get underpaid.

I worked at a children's learning center grading papers. ... I love kids, but that was a nightmare. My second job was at a comic book store, and I miss it a lot (especially when things get tough in my current gig).
A job where you can kick back and look at comic books while listening to podcasts all day is pretty much as good as it gets.

My first ever job was a paper route when I was like 6 or 7. Everything about it was cool, except the fact that I had to get up at 5 or 6 to deliver papers so I could actually make it to school on time...
But other then that it was awesome. You didn't really get paid that much but sometimes they'd send you some random coupons for things like resturants and movie tickets.

Is it legal to work that job when your 6 or 7 in your country? I wonder if thats legal in The Netherlands. It probably isn`t. Where you from?

No idea if it's legal though haha, it was a little while back and my dad did most of the work anyways XD

Oh gosh, my family kept suggesting jobs similar to daycare or student teaching, but I can't handle the idea of working with temper-tantrums for 6 hours, that would grate on me pretty fast. I like kids, they can be so cute and funny, but I want them as far away as possible, they're just too messy and scary at times. 8D

Comic books though, now there's an ideal job.

I've worked in a daycare since I was 12, and it's not bad. The kids have always been nice to me and they listen to what I tell them to do. I love working with kids but I'm trying to find another job, only cause it doesn't pay enough.

I know that feeling. It usually seems like a good idea to take something you love and are decent at and turn it into a job, but it usually doesn't end well. Or maybe in your case, you didn't like the clients after a while? What did you personally hate about it?

I got an internship at a chemistry lab. Apparently this internship consisted in helping younger student on they chemistry lab practices and grading their reports. It was quite fun tbh.

My dad probably would've tried to hog all of the money, but it was going into a bank account for when I got older so he couldn't really do anything... well he could've since it was joint with him, but my mom would've freaked out

My very first official job with contract was working in a pet shop. I was 17.
Before that I did baby sitting and pet sitting as a young teen.

I just got mine at a thrift shop. I don't get paid, but it had an application/interview process so I guess that's kind of close??
I have an internship at a Drug Store next week.

My first job was working as a cashier for McDonalds. I was there for a year. I got accustomed to my hair and body constantly smelling like fries and nuggets

Man.... Canada makes so much sense.....
I mean, that all sounds so normal to me. Is kinda nice for them to help out, saving you some pocketmoney for later.
