First animal crossing game

I’m 19 and I remember the GameCube still, wouldn’t consider myself “ old “ though lol
I suppose people people in their late teens would have grown up with the GameCube, but I'd imagine anyone here in their early to mid teens wouldn't have been old enough to play video games until the GameCube was past its prime. Obviously people may have still got a GameCube after the Wii came out and would know about its existence even without actually playing it, but it's amazing to think that we now have a generation of AC players who weren't even born when the GameCube game came out.

Yeah that’s true. Never played much on the GameCube, but definitely do remember it

Nope started with Wild World, but my older sisters started on Game Cube

I played the original and new leaf before new horizons. i don’t remember ever playing the other games, but I may of once or twice a long time ago at a friends house. i want to go back to both of them but im pretty sure i don’t have the original anymore :c

My first Animal Crossing game was the one on the GameCube, and I also played Wild World, City Folk, New Leaf, and now New Horizons.

Nope, I started with the original GC one (I'm 28)! I saw it in the store, saw the cats on the cover, and was like "SOLD!" It was not at all what I expected (for one, I thought I'd be able to be a cat, and was kinda bummed when I couldn't be) but I was hooked pretty quick. Since then I've played all the main series ones and Home Designer. Haven't played PC (not a mobile gamer) or some of the more obscure spin-off titles, though.

But ACNH is definitely my favorite so far! I didn't think they could top ACNL, but... I was totally wrong. The crafting element is FANTASTIC. It feels like such an obvious, natural part of the game I'm shocked they never had it in a main series game before (I... think PC might have it? IDK)
I'm also loving how wildly popular this game has become! Low-key because I feel proud being into it before it was "cool" (back when you tried to explain AC games to people... and they just blankly stared at you like "what why"), but also because I genuinely love when more people enjoy the things I enjoy! For some reason, some fans seem to get possessive over stuff they like... but I don't get that. If I enjoy something, I want more people to enjoy it, so we can all enjoy it together ☺

My first game was City Folk (^: tho I really wanted to play Wild World when it came out and was never able to get it lol
