Finally had enough of static

Okay finally had enough and am replacing static. I just can’t handle how his appearance and house doesn’t match his personality at all. I think fang will be a much better match for me.

Sorry to hear Static isn't working for you! However, I have Fang and while he's a "dreamy" and I love him, I think Dobie fits the personality best.

Yea the wolves definitely fit the old man feel of the cranky personality. Personally of the two cranky squirrels I like Ricky a touch more because I like his doofy mouth

Take it from an actual old guy who can barely work a cell phone(I have one of those prehistoric flip phones),Static is going through a mid-life crisis.His guitars are the trappings of his lost youth and he keeps them around to remind him of the time when he was a vibrant young squirrel playing in a rock & roll band.I played in a band many(many) years ago and I still have most of my gear even though I haven't busted it out in a very long time.Try thinking about him from that perspective and it might change your mind.If not,you could get Dobie since he really does look old.

Static being a cranky is a gift and a curse. I kind of like the idea of a "young cranky" but then some of the lines make him sound like a wrinkly old man.

Kinda why I had trouble picking between Ricky and Static. Ricky fits the personality way more but Static, imo, feels refreshing from the other crankies. He is the cool ™ cranky.

Anyway, I can see why you've lost interest. Good luck with Fang.

I'm not a fan of Static and this is a reason why. A young cranky could work but Static doesn't feel like a young guy with an old guy's personality, everything about him just screams young to me.

I've got a similar issue with Chief. I think he looks like a young Cranky, at least, but his design just seems better suited to another personality.

I love Crankies and I think most fit the dialogue really well, though.

Let's also look at Cyd. He looks more like a punk rocker rather than old and wrinkly, or the type to complain about back pain. He and Static look like they could be BFFs because they both got a Rockin' vibe going on.

My cranky, Gonzo, fits the personality much better, as do Dobie, Walt and Curt (funnily enough they're all gray!) It's all about looks sometimes with the villagers. It's too bad about Static because I positively love squirrels and the fact he could be an electric-type. I'm not too big of a fan of wolves, mostly because they're 80% cranky (or snooty) and therefore uninspired.

Kudos to Skye, Audie and Kyle.

Understandable, hope you find a cranky to your liking. Dobie would be a choice to consider since he fits what is now “cranky”. My problem with cranky villagers is that they don’t really act cranky and just seem like old men now. I have Static and I’m keeping him cause I like him even if his dialogue doesn’t really fit.

It's understandable, while I do like Static, I find it also kinda weird that he has such a deep voice even if he looks so young. Sometimes I wish the villager voices would sound either more higher or deeper depending what kind of age they are suppose to be. Maybe if younger looking crankies for example would have a bit higher sounding voice, with still the typical cranky vibe, it would may work better for villagers like Static.

I think you're going to love Fang. He's so cute, and he used to love to read books under trees by the river on my island. He's super sweet, and I think the voice suits a bigger wolf better than a little squirrel - just my opinion.

Although, I do love Static - I don't favor him as much in this game as I did in New Leaf. He was in my town and his personality seemed to fit him better back then. Idk if that even makes any sense but that's how I feel about him, anyway.

Try Spike, he's definitely a good cranky. too bad ab static, but i agree his house is a bit odd

i guess it doesn't bother me because aside from having static in new leaf, now i have tom in new horizons. and i pretty much had the same perspective when it comes to their houses and theme.

though i get why others wouldn't feel it. it's to each their own.

yeah, chief seems like a young artist to me, the way his house is, but then he gives those old man lines and reminds me he is supposed to be old
