Hazel is definitely up there. I love her little unibrow, and I love how, as a sisterly villager, she is not lacking confidence. Her "uni-WOW" just confirms that she is not gonna hide or change herself to fit some stupid beauty standards! She's got a unibrow and she's gonna ROCK it!

Also, IDK if people think she's ugly, but Ursala is apparently pretty unpopular and I find her to be one of the cutest villagers. She's got such a lovely color scheme, combined with a super sweet face, adorable freckles, and pretty hair. IDK how she's not one of the top sisterlies

Derwin! He’s my all-time favourite villager, derrrrr! He’s always running around on my island, and he’s so cute and adorkable. We also share the same birthday (25th May)!

Derwin was one I was gonna mention! I passed him a couple of times on island when I wasn't looking for a lazy, but I'd totally take him now. He's adorably dorky. Also, I share a birthday with Savannah- in CF she was the one who asked me what my birthday was, and when I told her, she was all "OMG WE'RE BIRTHDAY BUDDIES" and I remember thinking "That's weird dialogue, every villager has their own birthday, so why would they risk them saying they shared one when they didn't?" only to later discover they didn't, but instead included bonus dialogue on the off-chance you DID share a birthday

I see Tipper and Chadder sometimes mentioned as not being liked and I don't get it at all. Love them both.

I have never understood the hate on Shari or Plucky. Especially Shari, who even has a YouTube series dedicated to how much people hate her. Why? If you hate Shari, please enlighten me!

Another one is Graham. I understand that one though, at least — he looks hella awkward in his default glasses. But once you give him new ones, he is literally the cutest thing ever.

I mean, Shari's not my favorite, but I don't hate her. Frankly, I don't get the people who are so dedicated to hating on villagers... why would you prefer to spend your energy hating on villagers as opposed to gushing about villagers you like? I mean, I know it's not personal, but when enough people are hating on someone you love... it's starts to hurt your feelings a little, right? Like, you wonder if you're weird for liking them.
...Or maybe I'm still dealing with issues from bullying

And I agree with Graham! ...Except about the default glasses, I like those on him. He looks like an awkward hipster in them and, seriously, that look fits him so well I had him for awhile and my friend visited my island and was like "You have Graham? ...I'm so sorry." and I'm just like "...what" He was one of my faves in ACNL and I was delighted to have him as my first smug in this game! Then she mentioned people online hate him, and some were referring to him as a member of a RL group (that I won't talk about, it's gross and doesn't deserve to ruin the fun of ACNH) and I just... DID NOT get it. Especially with people picking on his personality- dude, he has the same personality as some of the most popular villagers. EXACTLY the same.

She has actually achieved cult status in my friend group! We have all drawn fanart of her and one of my friends even wrote lyrics to a song about her. Truffles is the villager we love to hate, even so much that I told my friends that if I saw Truffles again, I’d have to take her back.

Preach! People who hate a villager based on their personality and gush about another with the same personality... Not a good look, dog. I bet you the same people who hate Graham or similar villagers for being smug are like “uwu Raymond pls come to my campsite, maid-sama! uwu” (yes, exactly like that). And that sucks that your friend actually said that to you about having Graham. I actually traded with someone who declared to me something similar about having Shari on my island. Not cool!

Sort of off topic, but what you said about Graham being part of unfavorable groups reminds me of what my friend said to me about having Cousteau in my village (not going into detail unless you want to know). And now that she said that, I can’t unsee it. And I was so excited to have found Cousteau on a mystery island, too.

HONORABLE MENTION — I forgot to mention Huck, a commonly hated-on villager for his looks. I consider him to be among my closest friends on Animal Crossing. I still miss him.

To be honest, I am guilty of the very same thing. While I don’t have a YouTube series about it, I am very vocal about Truffles after she was the mandatory campsite villager in my village. Yo, I felt absolutely the same way about meeting Graham. He was in my New Leaf town, too, and he moved out while I was away from the game. I was sad about it — until he came back as a surprise campsite villager in New Horizons! I screamed like a banshee when I saw him, and now he’s a permanent resident of Kame. Gosh, I love Graham so much

The maid dress thing is definitely an anime thing. It doesn’t help that Raymond’s color scheme works out with your standard maid dress. But as far as my opinion goes, I honestly don’t care for him. He seems dull to me, especially with his unhappy facial expression. Caroline, who is in my town, has the same unhappy face and she had to actually grow on me before I ended up liking her. I just generally prefer most of my villagers to be happy-looking — Shari is an exception to this, too, with her frown.

Goodness! By my own logic, will Raymond end up growing on me, too...?
