I voted for Grass

but I could have sworn I posted about it? I guess not.
Anyway, I always gravitate towards the Grass starters. Plus, green is my favorite color and most of the Grass starters are green

Bonus points if they can learn Leech Seed. I think that Grass starters have better designs overall, but here's the thing about Snivy: while I love Serperior, I feel like both Snivy and especially Servine were designed a bit poorly imo
And about Sprigatito.... The first stage is okay, Floragato is peak, but Meowscarada? Horrible, what the hell were they thinking
In general, here's how I feel about every starter and which ones I choose more than others:
Kanto
Bulbasaur - my #1 favorite Pokémon and starter. Has access to Leech Seed, a really great move. I love its design from beginning to end.
Squirtle - my second choice. I have a fondness for turtles. Blastoise is awesome. I like that it can learn Skull Bash.
Charmander - it's good, but I prefer the other two more.
Johto
Chikorita - it's a cute little green dino with an aromatic leaf on its head. What's not to love? It can learn Leech Seed as an Egg move. I know Meganium isn't the greatest in battle, but I still love it. Its design is really good.
Cyndaquil - a Fire starter I enjoy having on my team. Typhlosion is great. I prefer its classic Johto form rather than its Hisuian form.
Totodile - I like it, but I tend to pick the other two more often. They did Mega Feraligatr dirty.
Hoenn
Treecko - I have a soft spot for reptiles, and this little guy is pretty awesome. Grovyle and Sceptile have such peak designs, especially its Mega. It goes pretty hard.
Torchic - mainly because of a lack of Gen 3 Fire Pokémon. The other choices are either Torkoal or Camerupt. Magcargo is Gen 2 and Ninetales is Gen 1 so they don't count. Combusken is oddly designed but Blaziken more than makes up for it.
Mudkip - it used to be my #1 favorite Water starter, but I still love this little guy. Marshtomp is derpy but Swampert is awesome.
Sinnoh
Turtwig - another turtle boy, so naturally it's my favorite. Its so adorable, a perfect design.
Piplup - my second favorite. Its really cute. Empoleon is cool. Water/Steel is an interesting type combination.
Chimchar - I pick it the least. I just really prefer the other two Sinnoh starters, but Infernape is peak design, too.
Unova
Oshawott - yes, yes, YES. This little baby is EVERYTHING

my #1 favorite Water starter. I always nickname him Sushi. They absolutely nailed it with this starter. Plus, it has Shell Armor as its Hidden Ability. Very nice. I think Unova form Samurott is better than Hisuian form. The Dark typing gives it three additional weaknesses: Fighting, Bug and Fairy.
Tepig - I love pigs! I love bacon! But did Emboar need to be part Fighting type? Not really. He got so much hate for it. Still does lol and its Mega? Too overly-designed, too busy, too orange, but I can understand the concept behind it.
Snivy - I pick it the least. And I only ever pick it because I loooove snakes and I loooove Serperior.
Kalos
Chespin - what a cutie! The green and brown colors on him look so good together. It learns some really good coverage moves early on, like Rollout and Bite. Quilladin, well, its face didn't need to be THAT weird and derpy lol but I love the general shape of its body. Chesnaught has a cool design, but I miss the brown colors Chespin had.
Froakie - because frogs, and I love frogs
Fennekin - meh, I never choose it. I don't like it nearly as much as the other two. I like Braixen, but Delphox is pretty underwhelming. It used to be my least favorite final Fire starter evolution.
Alola
Litten - a bipedal final evolution that's designed just right imo unlike a certain stupid rabbit I'll mention in a bit lol but anyway, I love Litten. My #1 favorite Fire starter. Incineroar is PEAK, tons of personality, Fire/Dark is pretty good, weakness to Fairy made neutral. Access to Intimidate/Fake Out/Parting Shot, a force to be reckoned with
Rowlet - Grass/Flying early on makes using it very interesting. A first stage dual type for the first time since Bulbasaur.
Popplio - cute, but not as interesting. Water/Fairy is pretty good, though.
Galar
Grookey - I didn't pick up SwSh, therefore I never had the chance to try out a Gen 8 starter, but if given the chance, I would choose Grookey. I think it's adorable. Thwackey is very questionable, very off-putting, but Rillaboom looks pretty good. It's a monke, so naturally it's going to have some humanlike qualities which don't feel forced.
Sobble - Inteleon..... Ugh this thing is gross to look at

the design just ain't it, man. Too human, less reptile. A chameleon starter and THIS is what they decide to do: lanky, ugly and those gross hands lol sorry Sobble, but I would never pick you.
Scorbunny - it's a shame because Scorbunny itself is honestly really cute, but I cannot with Cinderace. I just cannot. Bipedal final evolution done wrong in every single way. Delphox used to be my least favorite, but then this thing decided to exist. Stupid rabbit should have been more rabbit and less like a soccer player trying to look like a rabbit. Loppuny looks like a rabbit and hops around like a rabbit, and Diggersby is a chonky bunny who found its Trainer's secret stash of chocolate lol but Cinderace has like, zero rabbit energy. I would never pick Scorbunny.
Paldea
Fuecoco - I was immediately drawn to it as soon as the Gen 9 starters were revealed. It's really cute and derpy. I chose it and didn't regret it.
Sprigatito - my second choice only because I would give Floragato an Everstone so it never evolves into that garbage final form. Grass/Dark is a terrible type combination and Meowscarada is a terribly designed Pokémon. They try so hard in the anime to make it look like a cute wittle putty tat
Quaxly - just like Scorbunny, it's a shame the first stage is so cute, yet I would never pick Quaxly. I get that some birb species irl like to
move it, move it
but Quaquaval is a bit too much lol I want more pocket monster and less human.
