If anything, Yoshi shouldn't be there because it's much closer to a spin off than Super Smash Bros. is (I can consider it a different series on its own but not before Smash).

The Yoshi series began before Smash Bros.. The series itself can be considered a spinoff but ultimately is a prequel series.

This was a really touch choice, but ultimately I'd have to go with Pok?mon. I have earlier memories of some of the other titles, but I've invested the most cumulative time in Pok?mon by far. It's also the game that I know the most about on a technical level, and I competed in a few of the PGL tournaments and ended up taking one of the top spots in the 2013 Winter Friendly which was really cool. So while I may have been introduced to some of the other games first, my memories of Pok?mon are by far the fondest. It's just a truly amazing series and I'll keep playing it as long as they keep releasing games.

:D

I was referring to the OP saying no spin-offs can be included and didn't include Smash, but included Yoshi as a stand-alone series.

The "before" meant that if you were going to call any series a stand alone one, Smash would definitely be closer to one than Yoshi.
