animal crossing gcn will always hold a special place in my heart, but acnl is such a great improvement tbh

New Leaf, but tbh I think the perfect Animal Crossing for me would basically combine the creative elements of New Leaf with the villager snarkiness and mechanical decisions (minus acres used as loading points) of Cube Crossing, with other smaller things added and improved here and there of course

Honestly, I can't pick between ACGC or New Leaf. New Leaf has so many things that other games didn't which makes it seem like the best game....but it's glaring flaws make it hard to saw it is without a doubt better than the original Gamecube version.

I've only played WW and NL, but NL is definitely better! I love customisation, landscaping, etc. so the choice is simple. I don't even know how I've spent that long on WW since there's just less to do by comparison. It's a pity they toned down the snark for a lot of characters though.

new leaf of course! I first started on the GameCube and while the music is much better, and so are villager personalities (more raw) nothing like acnl gameplay.

WW probably holds the most memories and thus the most nostalgia value for me, but in my eyes NL is vastly superior as a game, and the most enjoyable one to date as well.

If ACNL's villagers weren't so sweet and caring it would totally be my ideal game. I want crankies and snooties, not old lazies and stylish normals.

Same! I haven't gotten that feeling of nostalgia when i listen to ACNL music yet, it doesn't feel very connecting

I've played the versions for GCN, DS, Wii and 3DS. I would say I like New Leaf best because of the customizations.

New Leaf by a mile. I treasure Wild World but New Leaf has way more things to do in it while still remaining loyal to the Animal Crossing "feel."

I've played 3 of these games: Wild World, City Folk, and New Leaf. There's pros and cons:

ACNL: Able to earn money and be rich easily!
ACCF: You're dirt poor most of the time.
ACWW: You're, well, average on the money level.

So City Folk is eliminated. More pros and cons

ACWW: No Club Tortimer.
ACNL: Club Tortimer is a great way to interact and make friends!

So, yep, New Leaf wins.

Though Gamecube is also my favorite because of the music, some of the events, and how the villager personalities were handled in that game

Either way, if it wasn't for nostalgia and the many summer months I sat playing it indoors throughout the summer I would obviously pick New Leaf
