My all-time favorite is and will forever be Apple, she's just such a cutie. Also like Rodney a lot, don't understand the hate for that little guy, like there is an entire subreddit dedicated for hating him, wtf. Least favorite is Holden, that weird yellow/red Japanese mascot based hamster who seems to stay as an New Leaf only villager.

My favorite hamster would have to be Rodney. Like @Scrapper mentioned, I think the hate towards him is uncalled for. I find him adorable in a dorky way. But I tend to like dopey villagers in general.
My least favorite hamster might have to be Graham. While you could say he's also dorky, I just don't like his design at all. I feel like he probably smells like bad cheese. I would say Soleil, but she really fits the "snooty" personality so well, design-wise, in my opinion.

I don't like either, with Graham being my 2nd least favorite but I guess I'll state why I prefer him;
I'm a fan of Graham's colors, I just think Orange/Green makes for a nice combination on most characters. I don't like Rodney's colors. His weird shade of blue-ish green is not for me and the pink hair doesn't do it any favors.
Graham's design actually has personality. I can see why people say he looks like a creep but you can easily say he's a nerd too. IIRC He has a technology-based interior so that drives the point. It's hard to describe Rodney as anything.
Also, despite Graham's really odd pig nose, I don't mind it. I like other characters with visual flaws (Hazel).
I've never had a hamster in my town. I think they're all cute though. I'm hoping to eventually have Soleil live on my island.
I almost invited Hamphrey when I came across him on a Nook Mile Island, but I'm glad I didn't because an island or too later I came across Wolfgang.
