somebody just made a post on tumblr saying that with the new update, if a villager is thinking of leaving, it will take 10 days for a villager to move out instead of 5 days. so that now you can have more time to stop them before its too late. can anybody confirm this???

gosh thats pretty annoying, ill have to get use to that
wait does that mean the cycling method doesn't work?
im pretty sure you would just replace the 5 day with 10 days though im no expert

Oh wow, that's totally true... The cycling method is probably broken.

oh god D:
but at the same time.. you can kick someone out if you move someone in via amiibo cards.

Wow, that really stinks for people who actually play the game as it was originally intended. Waiting weeks or months for a hated villager to leave, and then having to wait 10 more days, feels a bit harsh. It just . . . seems a bit odd to change this feature so that it benefits people who play less frequently at the expense of people who play more frequently?

I love a lot of things about this update, but it also worries me a bit. Feels like Nintendo is starting to cater to the intense, time-traveling, must-control-everything portion of AC fans, the ones who want to be able to quickly and perfectly craft their town exactly as they like it, at the expense of players who still want to do slow, daily playing and watch their town grow in real time.

(To be clear, I don't mind either playstyle at all. But it makes me sad that Nintendo seems to be saying "Okay, if you want a totally different type of game, then that's what you'll get!" without keeping in mind that there are many people who really valued the original style of gameplay, where everything WASN'T perfect or customizable, where villagers actually had minds of their own instead of obeying the mayor's instructions, where the real-time elements came with both logical rewards and logical consequences. I'm a little afraid that I'm going to lose interest in the game if things are made too easy for me, to be honest.)

as i saw with somebody else (they used a splatoon amiibo) the splatoon villager that wanted to move in let you to pick which existing villager to kick out, so you could have room for your new villager to move in. i think this might work with regular villager amiibo cards too???

This is great news for people that don't want anyone to move out c:

I actually quite like the feature because it does take me a little longer. I'm not able to log in daily to play and I don't TT so this gives me a chance to talk someone out of moving before they actually go into boxes.

i don't really mind, if an unwanted villager moves out i usually just tt immediately a day after their moving date

Same here! I'm a really busy person and sometimes I don't play for nearly two weeks at a time... and the most stressful part about playing for me was always how quickly a villager could leave. So I'm very happy about it ^_^

Just to confirm tt 10 days instead 5 with the cycling method doesn't work!
