Essential inventory items?

since I'm already decorating my island, the usuals I have aside from my tools are:
Native fruits (pears; to move trees/destroy rocks)
Saplings
Bushes
Customization kits
Crafting materials
Mushrooms (cuz I place them everywhere lol)
Flowers
Weeds
Furnitures I feel like I could use on the area I'm decorating

Asides from the tools I only carry around the customization kits and maybe some DIY. I don't like cluttering up my inventory so I generally only try to filll up the first line of storage when going out.

other than tools, i carry a few extra bags of bells (typically 2-3), fruit to give to my villagers, my simple diy workbench and some iron nuggets in case one of my tools break (which they always do lmaoo) ;;

The mats needed to craft tools, stack of pears or coconuts, wetsuit no snorkel because I've decided my playstyle is to not bother with a dedicated outfit and swim in my tennis shoes, and as of late my stack of pearls from going out daily to feed the otter

Just tools. Sure I have to go back to my house storage for things like fences or customization kits but I need that extra space. My inventory gets really cluttered as it is.

Why the unassessed fossil? I sometimes carry one around because a single fossil is a bother to get assessed by itself, but I don't carry it on purpose.

Filmsy axe, the iron axe I accidentally use instead, one unassessed fossil, one (1) fence leftover, 30 softwood but not 30 of any other kind, one shovel 1 use short of breaking, the other shovel I had that I found by the beach, two lost items I never returned, and fifteen dupe DIYs by my villagers

Not. More. And. Not. Less.

Definitely all the tools! I still have the ladder and pole even though my island is more or less accessible - just in case I need them. I also have been carrying around a diy workbench lately, fish bait, as well as custom kits.

Shovel, rod, net, watering can, stone axe, axe, slingshot, ladder, pole, customization kit, medicine, wetsuit.

stuff i always carry nowadays: tools + wetsuit/goggles + DIY table yep i carry them everywhere + customization kits + some resources so they automatically stack + wrapping paper & fruits for gifting

around 10-15 empty spaces for anything i catch or new furnitures i might get
