So my town currently has 10 villagers, which is bad because I have at least 3 dreamies I desperately want (and one of them showed up at the campsite not too long ago....oh no). Lately some of my villagers who aren't dreamies have been pinging me asking to move. But for some reason I just can't let go of them??

One of them is Rocco. He was one of my starters, so I pretty much can't imagine my town without him. He's also my only cranky, and cranky is my fave male personality type. I figure our friendship has pretty much reached its limits since he's given me his pic 3 times now, but whenever he pings me leave, I still tell him to stay. :(

Another is Victoria. She was the second villager to move in after I started my town, so I can't really imagine my town without her either. She's not my only peppy, and peppy isn't even my fave female personality type, but I STILL can't let her go for some reason!

Has anyone else ever had this problem? How did you learn to let go of non-dreamies who had been in your town for a long time? I know I need to make room for the dreamies I'm missing but I just can't bear to tell them to move. ;_;

Just think of all the apples they've made you pick, and all the trips to the bin to dispose of yet another shirt you didn't want.

Think of all the times you dug up a hybrid, because your villagers just had to stand right where you were.

Or all the times you tried to work on your interior and they barged in.

Think of when you felt sick IRL, and had to say 'NO' to yet another random, inane request, and how they called you 'heartless'.

Yep.

That's what I think of, and then it's just ADIOS!

You know, now that I think about it, the other day I bought something at the Nooklings' store for 1200 bells. As I was walking back to my house, Victoria pinged me wanting to buy it for like 360 bells......not even 5 minutes after I'd paid 3 times more for it new! When I told her no, she got all pissed at me. I'm keeping that in mind next time she asks to move. :p

I'm finally letting Kid Cat go, (maybe, I make him stay) he's been in my town for a year, I really like him but his house was never in the best of spots.
I have no idea who'd I replace him with though.

After like 30 minutes, they ignore you so you'll take a rl break, so I don't get pinged too often.

That's the way to do it!

They are out to take advantage.
Remember that.

It makes saying goodbye a lot easier. ^_^

I have a tough time letting villagers go. I've gotten better, and the ones I currently have are all ones I want to keep, but I get being unwilling to let them move.

Sometimes you have to be strong and tell them to be happy in their next adventure.

I always finally get emotionally ready to let them go and agree to have them move and then they never freaking leave!!! They end up changing their minds and staying. I got ready to let Freya and Eugene move out and they both changed their minds just a couple day before they were going to be in boxes. I tried to tell myself to let them move out if they want, but sometimes when Portia, Fauna, or Shari ping to move I just can't let them leave. I love them way too much. I try to remind myself that all they are is written code but that never works. They're just too darn cute.

I'm not happy that I'll eventually get rid of Wolfgang, but it will be worth it in the end. I was going to get rid of Nate when I first saw him, but he really grew on me and became permanent. I find that a lot of things in AC don't always go as planned, and sometimes it's better just to go with it.

That happened to me with Deli! (And he's still in my town right now.....lol the one time I was ready to let him go he ended up changing his mind.) I need to learn to not speak to them again until I go to their house the day they're in boxes smh. I made the mistake of speaking to Monique again after I'd told her she could move and she was contemplating staying but thankfully she didn't change her mind like Deli did.

I never had "Dreamies", but I'm attached to some villagers and can't let them go even if they don't fit my town theme that well... especially Chow. I said yes the last time he asked to move, but every passing day I'd grow anxious until I spoke to him and when he said he was packing the next day I told him to stay, lol. I really can't explain it... ;v;
(But I've made my mind to let Pinky go next time she asks. It's decided and I won't cave in! Hopefully... ;v; )

Well, now I got rid of most of my starters who are not Dreamies, but Stinky is still there.
I don't know why I cannot let him go, I mean, he is loud, unhygienic (his name, duh) and I do not consider him one of my favs.
But somehow he makes such a jolly impression and last time he wanted to move, at first I let him go, but then I told him to stay.
I already have my dream Jock with Billy, but nonetheless I cannot let Stinky go.

Same thing was with Peggy, but in the end, I found her too unsympathetic and she also gave me a Moldy Shirt. Bye Peggy, Hello Piper.^^

Yep! There’s always that one starter villager I wasn’t even planning on keeping but they worked their way into my heart. Right now that villager is Dotty and her house is in such a perfect spot so I’m thinking of keeping her...I’m always so weak for the peppy and normal villagers

Exactly this!
I am weak for Cranky villagers, but since I met Graham I also love the Smugs.^^
Would have kept Jacques but he sold me a forgery...

It depends. Do you actually WANT them in your town or are you just keeping them for 'nostalgia?'

I kept Gladys for a while cause she was sweet but I wanted other villagers so I just said sorry out loud and quickly pressed goodbye. I felt a tad of guilt for a while but now I'm happier with my dreamies.

If you actually LIKE having them around, then maybe they are your new dreamies! Sometimes dreamies aren't what you wanted in the end. For example, I had Maple as one of mine and finally got her. When I did, we just didnt click, I dunno, so I let her go.

I'm weak for those type of villagers too! Why are there SO many great normal types?!

Ha, that's Pietro for me. In RL, I hate clowns. Just think they're creepy. But he moved in right next to my mayor's house in my first town and has really grown on me. Just a really sweet Smug. When I restarted my town, I purchased his Amiibo card so I could make sure he lives there. He's just so sweet. Always saying things like how he's ready to be my roommate and how we are such good friends. Plus, he likes Sci-Fi items so I just feel like our friendship is meant to be.

I don't usually get attached for non dreamies but the closest thing probably was when I had second thoughts about Molly. She's cute. I love her interior. I love the music that's been played inside her house. That was during the early days when I was still in the process of arranging and putting the villager houses on the east part of my town. She's one of my starters and her house was really far away and located on the opposite side. I ended up letting her go. Wish I had her amiibo that time to just rescan her.

I currently have Eugene who's smug as well. They are so sweet and caring, but I've been wanting to switch him with Pietro because I love clowns! But like you, IRL koalas are one of my favorite animals so everytime I think I'll let Eugene go I just can't do it. They need to up our villager allowance lol I'd love 12 or 13 instead of the 10.
