Duplicate gifts

I’m not sure if this has been discussed or not. Almost anytime I give a villager a hat or anything as a gift, when they take it off and display it in their home two show up. Is that happening to anyone else?

yes ! i gave audie a cosmo wreath AGES ago and she hung it up on her door, went into her house last week and saw it hanging on her wall. i was really annoyed cause i thought she'd taken it off her door but it was still there so seems like it duplicated
