I own a DS Lite, but the hinge on it is half broken off and is very inconvenient to play. I can either get Nintendo to replace it for about 85 dollars plus shipping, or I can get a completely new DSi from the stores. I enjoy playing my GBA games, but I don't wanna miss out on anything that could be new on the DSi.

There's also the DSi XL, but I dunno.

Which one should I buy?

Thanks.

Get a new one... mine broke in the exactly same way... >.> (Get black! >:D)

Also... If you fix it, then you're missing out on stuff like flipnote and AC themed stuff and Picto pict <3

DSi if you don't wish to play Gameboy SP games, but obviously DS Lite if you want to.

If it's purely for DS games, DSi anyday.

I had a choice between a Lite and DSi and I chose the Lite simply because of price and the ability to play GBA games.

Yea... the stick thing changed to a pen that can't write anything T_T
But I have 1 with my tablet! >:)

I believe the DS Lite has better battery life, is a little thicker than the DSi and, of course, can play GBA games.

Also, the DSi has a menu, downloadable stuff and updates.

It depends. The DSi is just basicly a rip off from the DS lite. It basicly only has a camera (And I have my own so why need one on my DSi which has les battery life.) And the DSi shop thingy-mo-bob. But you get the Wii shop channel on the Wii. But it just has different features. and it comes with the browser (downloadad from the shop channel) But you can buy one for your DS lite anyway.

But the decission is entirely up to you.

And the DSi XL is just too chunky...

Get a DSi or DSi XL and play your GBA games on a Game Boy Advance SP or Game Boy Micro.
Then it feels weird and I always think they have 2 screens...

Or Game Boy Player for GameCube, I'll add.

Anyway, the second screen is useless if you're playing a GBA game, so why would you want it? .-.

the DSi XL is for old people who cant see.
it shouldn't even be an option unless you have bad eyesight.

regardless I say DSi. because its better.
if you need to play your gba games just get a micro.

Ugh. I hate it when people say things like that. The DSi is NOT for old people with bad eyesight. It's for people who want bigger screens. Also, it's so other people can watch you play easily.

Is it true that there are going to be DSi specific games coming out? I read somewhere about there being DS/DS lite cartridges and DSi cartridges.
