So I just updated my dream town and i'd love some feedback! If you dream/review my town, i'll do the same for you! Be as harsh as you want, I won't be offended. Please don't go into my second house Elliott, it's in shambles & i'm currently trying to fix it. Also south-west of Bam's house is my hybrid storage/breeding area so don't bother reviewing their either. If there's anything specific you want me to look at in your town, let me know! I can try and give you ideas for your house, or PWP placement, things like that. I'll try and give an even amount of compliments & constructive criticism. My dream code's in my signature.

Edit: Also I just replanted the trees circling my town plaza, so they're not quite grown yet. Just so you know.

I'll try to do this before the end of today; if not, tomorrow. (I also don't mind you doing that with my town, but I haven't yet had Luna update it. I'm in the process of doing some clean-up.) My assessment will be chiefly based on the town. The outside.

Sounds good! I'm pretty sure I reviewed your town a few weeks ago, I had a big thread open. I'll re-review it though! I was kinda rushed before so hopefully a second look will give me some better advice for you. I'll review it tonight, you take your time!

noahmeow,

I think you did an assessment on my villagers. I brought up the topic, and there were responses. You may have responded to that.

I was confused by your path, just the pink square with an R on it. I have a feeling you were in the middle of re-designing it or something. I just realized it led to Re-tail! Great idea if you have a lot of traders or people selling turnips. Not the most visual appealing, but very useful. You definitely had a great amount of flowers! Along with bamboo and trees. The space below Hans is perfect for a little park or something. The jungle gym & picnic blanket are great PWP for that area, but maybe try adding bushes around it? Or a cobblestone ground design. Circling all the villagers houses in ores was a creative idea! The cafe placement was a really good choice, it flowed well. Over all, it was a solid well made town! Thanks for the response.

noahmeow,

I just started up the Dream sequence of visiting your Address.

Quick notes about what you mentioned with my town:

1. Effective 01.14.2014 just after 12:00 a.m. ET, I have given my town an update. I'll be updating again in another in three days. (Once the trees are gone. More adjustments as well.) Keaton is now gone. Simon is brand-new. And I have planted more Perfect Fruit trees, as well as Durians. I've also changed the design of the paths to be a different color of the flag. A dark path is the primary means of travel. Ones with red and ones with green background are choice routes en route to Re-Tail Shop for visitors needing/wanting to cash in on their items.

2. The ores were being used for color and to accentuate exteriors of houses and buildings. Now I realize the evaluation of my town by the committee will categorize them as garbage. So they have been holding me back. They look great; but I want a Perfect Town. (When the next update is reflected, all ores still present, around any houses and buildings, will be gone.)

3. The area just south of Hans will be eventually getting bushes from me. I was having a hard time recalling what I planted, near the picnic blanket, and I held off selecting and planting more for one reason: consistency. So, once spring arrives in Applewin, I can resume giving that area more attention. (That's probably where I should put a Flower Arch.)

4. The location of The Roose Cafe was selected by me because I wanted it to be pretty central to traffic. I didn't want it isolated. I later had the Police Station to deal with; given I had the Fountain already between the Town Hall and the Train Station, which are up front (as north as possible), I figured the best potential balance would be with locating the Police Station immediately next door to Re-Tail. There was enough space for squeezing it in (when, otherwise, trees could have been placed there). And the Bamboo, used for that area, and for The Roost Cafe, made it seem to be purposeful. Getting back to The Roost Cafe: It's just across (north/south) the river, in the center of Applewin, also because it looked like a good location when I was dealing with the map. My other consideration was to place it where [human] Jermaine's house is located. But that area also seemed to strike me as ideal for a human's privacy lot.

Thanks for the quick take!

I'm going to get to your town, your Dream Address, and respond here as soon as I can. (Again, I write this just as Luna has taken me into your town for my Dream sequence.)

sounds fun, I am new here and I want some feedback for my town ^^
please visit my town soledad, my Dream code : 4800-2253-7299

thank you

Fisrt, I like your path and how is well organized ^^ I am impressed.
the park is lovely but I prefer nature path instead of grey path.
I found weird that there is bamboo near a pyramid though because you don't see bamboo growing in desert so it is kinda weird for me sorry.
you character Elliot has a messy hair (looks funny ^^) and I like you flower arrangement (well, you will see in my town that I love flower)

I really love your combination : flower + PWP ... good job.

first room : I love this room, sounds like a royal family, but some items don't match like the office desk maybe because of the colour (it is my personal opinion of course, I like matching colour)
the basement, I like the theme of the room (messy room ?)
I love upstairs awesome ^^ but pictures and gold dresser don't belong to the theme for me.
left room, hum sweet things my favourite, I like it
kitchen room now, there are tree and bushes, why ? did not get the theme of this room well ...
the last room, I like the idea of a creepy room but the art is better on the wall, no ?

Oh, I know ! I should not have visiting Elliot house but ....the basement looks like ...hum..you are growing something illegal lol love it ^^

Well, thanks for the dream, I had good time. I did not get really well your theme house (noah) but I love the way you organize your town :)

And good location for your pwp, good job ^^

well see you and thanks for the dream it was pleasant.

Landscape - Loved all your hybrids! They were all well placed and looked organized. Colour coordination helped a lot. I couldn't think of any criticisms landscape wise! Expect I always tell people to be careful with water ground patterns, sometimes they look out of place. Left of Julian's house, it looked great! It looked like an actual closed off pond, but like above the police station it borders the river and it's suppose to be water? Water against water? And the person would be trapped in the bus stop. D: Maybe i'm getting too technical for animal crossing lmao. It's still a beautiful town though!

Daichi House - My favourite room was the middle-left room, it looked very sophisticated. I like the library/office room theme. What item was the closest to the door? Just curious. Couldn't find anything bad to say about that house!

Sakura House - This house was on the more simple side, but it worked! It wasn't over crammed with items, giving it the light zen feel you were going for. The middle-left room was very grey, but I think you wanted to have the focus on all your rare food items. I loved the middle-right room! All the refurbished gold modern furniture was a great idea. Loved the idea for your upstairs, but when I first walked in my eyes went straight to the violet screen. I know they don't have a great selection of screens, maybe try refurbishing it to white?

Yuki House - I'd say this one is my favourite house so far! The back room was perfect, I wanna steal it. I won't though don't worry lmao. All the different rooms being different vacationing spots was great! The upstairs was the weakest room i'd say.

Kaiji House - You've definitely got themed rooms down to an art. The 7/11 room was well done, the spa room was wonderful, along with the restaurant. The basement was the weakest, it was just the sloppy set. Maybe try adding a pool table, or a cooler. Something to give it that poor college vibe lol.

Thanks for the response! Sorry I gave more compliments then criticism, it was a well made town! I enjoyed dreaming of it.

Thank you for the criticisms! I appreciate it, it's made me thing about what needs to be redone.

oh thanks for the review that will be useful in the future ^^
oh the item in Daichi's house : it is a jap DLC : capricorn ornament ^^ love it, thanks to my Japanese friends

Highly Creative with Great Details

noahmeow,

What strikes me about your town are details upon details.

I'll go over what pleased me (and they far outweigh very little negatives).

POSITIVES

1. The villagers. I ran into Fauna first, right by the Village Plaza. She's adorable. It's great you have Rudy, who is a doll, and Erik, who I would gladly welcome in my town, as well. And Marshal is … in demand.

2. Trees circling Village Plaza. In that area you have several trees around the Village Plaza which makes it feel special. A showcase of a meeting place. My Village Plaza is my town's northwest area. Yours is in the center of your town, New Bark.

3. The paths. I notice you used several. That they are meticulous. That they are layed out with an organizational purpose. I love the dark one placed immediately around the Village Plaza tree. I really like that, in front of residents' doors, you also use these paths to distinguish entries from that of all other walking paths.

4. Numerous and different hybrids. You have done wonderful work with hybrids, in general, but your town of New Bark is also arranged very pleasingly with these hybrids on display. Some areas, you use the same type with more than one color; in other areas, you mix it up. I like the blue cosmos and purple cosmos placed just west of Marshal's residence. I like the blue roses placed just outside the Police Station. And I really think you were smart for highlighting an entry into New Bark, traveling from north to south, just outside the Train Station. There one finds the Flower Arch centered. There are bushes, yes, but also many carnations in red and pink hues. Lovely. (Bonus with the Zen Bell, just west of it, with surrounding Jacob's Ladder.)

5. Strong selection of Public Works Projects. There are numerous. And I can't complain. In the "Negatives," you will read something that is more suggestive.

6. I enjoyed the surrounding south and southwest area of New Bark. This is more a start with south central. Then make your way along the southwest. I like the location of the Windmill, and that is surrounded most immediately by Jacob's Ladder and, thereafter, a mix of black roses and white carnations. The flower variety outside Noah's house—which include blue violets, pink roses, and purple roses—are striking. The Sphinx and Pyramid, atop a sand path, are impressive and nicely emphasized with an edgy outline of gold roses.

NEGATIVE

1. You need more fruit trees. Your Dream Address date shows 06.19.2014. Perhaps some of the trees had fruit. But they appear isolated. Some on the northwest side of town. Some around the Village Plaza area where, next to that, is the Scarecrow grounds. You may want to plant more in areas with exposed greenery (like along the river).

SUGGESTION

1. I don't like the location of the Lighthouse. I would prefer it where Coco resides. I would suggest an eventual switch. To let [Coco's eventual replacement; if you intend for that] have some exclusive area of living possibly in the northeast (where we currently find your town's Lighthouse). The problem with the Lighthouse being located there is that it's too limiting. It is next to the train tracks and, apparently, Main Street. It's not enough. If the Lighthouse was located where we find Coco, that Light from the House would cover more of the New Bark beach. But I do get the feeling Coco may have taken up residency there before you took on the Lighthouse.

My overall impression is that your Perfect Town took a lot of time, a lot of effort, and a lot of your creative intuition to pull together. It is great. I don't see my town comparing to yours. And I'm not about to try. I think the negatives aren't strong negatives; they don't weigh down the pleasure of navigating New Bark. (Nice that you have an area for "New Bark Park.") You put a great deal of thought into your town.

Thank you so much for the feedback! Unfortunately, i'd love to put the lighthouse in Coco's house location, but she was my original 5 and she's staying forever if I can help it. I'll definitely try and plant more fruit trees! Have a good night.

That's fine.

There really isn't anything much to say that's a negative.

The fruit trees, if you're giving Perfect Fruit of different kinds to your villagers, keep a simulating appearance which include variety.

It was a pleasure for me walking through New Bark. I did it more than once. I focused mainly on the town.

I'll do yours soon! Here's my DC: 6800-3430-5484
Landspacing - Your town was in the beginning stages landscape wise, but a great town layout to work with. The path was simple and cute, it worked well with the snow. Obviously some more trees and flowers lining the paths would help. Not much to say sorry! Maybe think about circling your tree plaza with bushes, or trees or something.

Jess House - I'm gonna guess you just restarted your cause your signature says you're doing the 1 year challenge. The house didn't have much to look at. Sorry for the lack of feedback!

Yeah I've moved my furni a bit now. I'll review yours soon!

I am planning to circle town plaza with perfect orange trees c: And I have restarted so I didn't expect much aha

Path patterns: I like the path patterns but I have seen many towns with the same path patterns before. I would like to see more original path designs.
Your paths actually lead to places I would visit… good job on that. xD Some towns don’t know what paths are for and I end up lost.
Also great job on the farm with the scarecrow!

Flowers, bushes and trees: I love the hybrids. I like how you worked flowers, bushes and trees with the fairy tale bench to the left of Noah’s house.
Some bald spots that could be filled in with plants… 1) between the North of Retail and West of Train station 2) between South of Gaston’s house and South of Purrl’s house

Villagers: I love the deer villagers. Erik even said “Cherry there’s something weird about our village. Could you turn it back to normal?” lol He knows me from my town and thought our village changed completely.

Character Houses and Villager Houses: Between Elliot and Noah’s houses: I like Noah’s house more because the furniture mix and match looks cute and colorful. I especially love the colorful decor of Noah’s top floor.
Your villager houses looks good alongside the paths you laid out and they are easy to get to.

Also dream of my town when you get the chance to? My dream address is 5800-2153-8372

My review of New Bark

I'm typing this as I walk around your town. I love the trees around your plaza, with white carnations in between. They're a wonderful sight to wake up on! Not a patch on your big ol' town tree though, aha. As I walked away from that, I loved your little vegetable patch with the scarecrow. A lovely touch. You had lots of flowers and hybrids and trees everywhere, and I loved your variety of bushes! I liked your 'New Bark Park', it looked really nice!

Your variety of PWPs and their placement looks wonderful. And they went really well with your selection of paths, and your fairytale town hall and train station. I too think the lighthouse would look amazing at Coco's house but, that can't be helped. Overall, your town design is amazing and you deserve that perfect town! And man I love your Egyptian area!!

And, your character houses looked wonderful inside and out. Your town is absolutely amazing, but I too would like to see a few more fruit trees instead of bare trees. They add a bit more.. colour!

Also dream of my town when you get the chance to? My dream address is 5800-2153-8372
Thank you for the feedback!

Landscaping - The path was definitely unique, the tan part looked really good with the blue border. Idk how I feel about the yellow square you've pair with it though. It in a different colour would blend better I think. Your town was beautiful! So many hybrids, you definitely didn't leave any spot untouched. Nothing really bad to say about your landscape, it flows well!

Larri - Middle floor was really cute! Back room was pretty simple, just the card set. Along with the upstairs, just the simple full harvest set. The middle-left room was great though! Turning it into a game show was pretty creative. Loved the basement.

Cherry - Looked very rich as soon as I walked in. I'd maybe change the music though? Loved the cow furniture in the middle-left room. The middle floor was very gold, and the side room was very silver so it made the house flow. The middle-right room was definitely very pink! I mean i've seen the mermaid set tons of times, but it definitely gave you the girly vibe you were going for. I like the upstairs a lot more, it was still girly but more subtle. It was a beautiful room.

Tete - Middle floor looks like a work in progress. For the backroom, I can always appreciate a Halloween room, I kept mine out of season too. If I had to guess, i'd say this is more of a side house with all your zodiac figurines and holiday items. Upstairs was the best room! Definitely one of the best sci-fi rooms i've seen!

Thanks for the response! I enjoy dreaming of your deer town, it was beautiful!

Thank you so much! I definitely need to add more fruit trees, I usually plant cedars cause I want a foresty vibe. But thank you for the response!

I'll try to visit, in the evening, one or two other thread posters' towns. Anyone who invited it. (And I invite people to look at mine. I'm no artist. But I try to be pretty smart in working with what I have.) My own approach with a town review is to concentrate mostly on the town, the outside, and not so much the inside of houses. How people approach their reviews is individually a self-determination. (Of course.)
