Are there any downsides to creating a second account to play as an alternate villager, played by yourself, on one switch? As far as I can tell you get extra storage space, extra DIY bottles, double Gulliver rewards, etc. The only downside that I seem to see is the extra physical space taken on the island. By creating this second account am I somehow neglecting my villagers or bringing some unintended consequences that I am somehow missing? I’ve clocked around 520 hours since release with no TT, and my storage is absolutely full which prompted me to make the alt account, but it seems to be all upside and no downsides which makes me a bit worried.

i have 3 characters on mine and there’s no downside besides their houses taking up space, not being able to connect to the internet on the alt accounts unless they’re connected to a nintendo account and are apart of a nintendo online membership and the alt characters won’t be able to build/demolish/relocate things like the main character can.

I currently have 2 alt accounts for whenever Redd shows up.

Another thing that's neat is that if you're designing an island a certain way you can treat the alt houses as themed buildings. I remember someone who named their other character Bathhouse and obviously make a bathhouse building. It was cool.

i guess the only downside is that when u are on ur main profile ur villagers will talk about ur other account often but besides that theres nothing bad and other profiles don't affect the max amount of villagers u have. also as luella mentioned a lot of people make second accounts to put up bakeries or cafes
