Does anyone not put hours into searching for villagers?

I really like having a cycle of villagers, so I let go of villagers pretty easily! I think it's pretty nice generally, since you can experience having different villagers and get to know them instead on focusing only on the villagers you visually like

I typically don't. I island hop until I find someone I click with and that's it. I don't set out with a list of villagers in mind.
Same!! I usually only spend a few NMT before I find someone I can vibe with/someone i'm happy with! I don't really have villagers i'm specifically looking for, but obviously there are some that I would take 100% if I saw them!

I like that methodology. It's the best way to not be disappointed :)

I never really spend much time. Usually I get the first new villager on a NMT island as long as its a personality I'm low on

I used amiibo for most of mine. I don't go island hopping. I tried once and gave up about 15 islands in, or so. Not worth the time lmao.

I don’t spend much time looking for villagers, most of the time I either find one available on this forum at the time or I when I do go villager hunting I have never spent more than ten tickets at a time before I find one I like. There are of course villagers o would like to have but I also like to see lots of different ones and tend to let them move when they ask with the exception of four that I’m really attached to.

I moved in my 3 dreamies via amiibo cards and the rest were just whoever showed up first when I was island hopping or random move-ins. I haven't had anyone move out yet, even though I really wasn't pleased with some of my villagers at first. The weird thing is, all of my villagers have REALLY grown on me (except for one). I'm so glad I was open to trying out villagers I had never had before, instead of looking for someone in particular. It's nice to develop new favourites this way. That being said, I can also see why people would want to spend a long time searching for the perfect 10 villagers. I think it would be fun to play that way, as well.
