Been playing since the gamecube days and this is the first time I'm doing anything with the turnips... but that's ONLY to get the stamps. As soon as I get that last stamp I am never gonna talk to her again!
i normally time travel (bc im not patient) back to turnip day to buy, i never buy on Sundays bc i cant wait a whole week to sell (and if i do i screw up and spoil turnips)
Meee
I time travel too much and every time I would try buying them theyd get spoiled and I'd be mad so I gave up
Plus its waay too much work for someone as lazy as me to check the prices each day
I thought I was like the only person who didnt care about them haha
I haven't done turnips in like 3 weeks I think? I don't exactly have a need for bells at the moment, but I think next week I'll do turnips again since I just remembered that there's a nook miles achievement connected to it
I do find it more fun to make bells off of fishing, catching bugs, and collecting seashells lol. It's slow, but it's fun
The first few weeks of the game I bought and sold turnips to help pay off my house loans and other initial landscaping projects. I bought minimum 100k worth of turnips or maximum 400k so it was never a huge investment each week. Now that I don’t need to upgrade my house any further I don’t really buy turnips anymore. Most of the money I make now is from fishing/bug catching, hot items, and selling fruits. Finding high prices is just too stressful for me. Even when I did sell turnips it was always at a friend’s island because I don’t like waiting in queues :’))
The main way I make bells in this game is through grinding nook miles and selling nmts, so I'm not too bothered about turnips. If Daisy Mae's selling price is too high, like yesterday, I skip turnips altogether for the week.
when new horizons came out i was very much invested in the stalk market, though i've made more than enough bells thru trading where i don't even bother with the turnips anymore.
I don't really like taking big risks, especially financial ones, so I've never really been comfortable with the risk of playing the stalk market. I understand that I could make a good profit from them if I seek out the towns selling at ridiculously high value, but more often than not I usually just play with a few close friends and I don't really want to put forth the effort since I'm inherently risk-averse. I am tempted lately since I could use the bells, so I might try it sooner or later. At the very least, I'll be buying one soon to let it rot and catch some ants.
A circle of friends and I TT so we all try to check if our turnip selling prices are high. If they're high enough, we all just TT back to Sunday and sell at their island, provided we give em a bunch of profits too :x
I don’t really buy from her because my prices always trash and I hate being on the lookout for other people’s prices. I think if they didn’t expire after a week it would encourage me to buy more. It’s happened twice to me already
I bought turnips for about 4 or so weeks and I always bought in pretty large quantities (2-3 inventories full) and sold all of them at 500+. I made a ton of bells that now just sit in my abd. I don't really have a need for igb either at this point, as my home loans have all been paid off and I already got all of the stalk market stamps. The biggest hassle was always having this huge pile of turnips I let chill on the ground. That is something I am not going to miss.
I'm not ignoring it yet, but soon I will. Once I have enough bells in the bank to demolish/rebuild all my bridges/inclines and move all my buildings multiple times, I won't worry about turnips. Right now I spend 200-300k a week with the goal of selling for around a million. I've always been able to find a good price here on TBT without much stress.
I never did anything with Turnips previously, in Wild World I just skipped it entirely. However... I really think the rendering of the turnips looks so cute in the game, and I love when people make little farm set-ups and display dropped turnips. So I made a teeny tiny raised turnip farm bed at the back of my island and drop a few there, and maybe one in my kitchen... for decoration!
If I can sell them for a profit, then it's a bonus
