Does anyone else's Island have a "story" to it?

Before launch, I did consider a small legend involving a white butterfly that glows that can only be spotted at night and making it the symbol of the island of such. It would be said if you find it, you'd have good luck or good fortune is coming your way. I'm not sure if I can incorporate it with how my island is now, but it's still possible. Just haven't gotten that far yet.

If only the fairy bottle item was back.

My island itself doesn't have lore, but everyone on my island has some kind of lore, even if relatively light or nothing insane.

Lucky, for example, was dead on a deserted island for god knows how long before I found him. Despite this, he's actually friends with literally everyone on the island and is at times nicer than Marina, who's our resident "sweetheart".

Flora lost her whole family and now has a plastic lawn flamingo family. She also insists that she's an ostrich. We support her, she's just... kinda got trauma.

Shari is the first to butt heads if she thinks someone's being disrespected. She essentially is the reason why Mallary left, since they fought often due to Mallary being rather rude.

Rocco is the tough retired construction worker and Beardo is the washed up used-to-be-rich business man. And they're very gay.

Judy is probably a criminal. Tia runs a cafe. Marina is homesick but left for a good reason. Nate probably knows too much. Axel is just kinda weird and creepy at times, but we love him anyway.

My village takes is in ancient Greece but in a time where must of the ancient structures were already partly ruins (I have to work around the fact I can't really make a temple and really want to use things like the stack of books despite books being a thing only later on in history :p). I try to reflect the theme with my villagers, so I am gonna have a goat (Kidd) and cat (since modern Athens is such a cat city) and have anyway acquired Diana who sadly isn't named Artemis, but whom I'm gonna give an ancient bath house since her house is one already.

I don't have any specific stories yet, but all of my villagers will have a role to play (Poppy has a library.. Roscoe will guard the entrance to the Underworld/be in charge of mining).

I like it :)

My island is a factory of fashionistas and young starlets. (If you check my signature, you will mostly see a lot snooty and peppy villagers.) They tend to challenge themselves of who's the best.

The normal villagers there are just "sheep" to praise them

What about Muffy? She's the police ensuring that everyone acts in moderation.

Honestly, there's no story behind my island. :)

I'm missing a few villagers, but Hamphrey recently became the mayor. He's been setting a lot of silly laws and the villagers don't like him. Dobie (the detective) thinks Hamphrey rigged the election because he interviewed a lot of people and most of them voted Raymond. He's trying to gather proof to show to Tom Nook so they can kick Hamphrey off the island :D

True to our petsite instinct, we do have a story for our island.

Our main account and our two alts are aliens who grew up on earth. Remy, like us, is a system and came to the island because they were stressed being around humans, also like us. The other two came later at the same time, but we're still working out their lore.

We like the idea the Anomaly is unsettling or weird in a subtle way. Like days occasionally repeating (which is true when we time travel), or maybe there also being ghosts or weird noises. When you swim too far out to sea, you loop around to the other side of the island. When you leave using the airlines, everything turns black at a certain point and the Dodos can't explain it. It's not treated as horror, but enough to be weird.

I also like the idea of villagers appearing without knowing how they got there, maybe with some memories missing, sort of like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Bam and Muffy would probably be the only ones who came to the island willingly true to the game, Muffy sticks around to help other animals and Bam is kind of (comically) oblivious to what's going on.

He also doesn't fit in the island plan, but I like the idea that Octavian shows up sometimes drifting to shore but doesn't actually want to join the island for one reason or another.

Honestly we're kind of revamping it and working on inviting villagers we want via the NFC tags, so we just have general ideas and nothing concrete.
