Does anyone else miss villager errands?

You still can do that, but like others said, it does not seem as frequent as nl. I think the only missing errands are the fruit and fetching another villager ones.

I wish they were like how they were on the GameCube version. You could ask them if they needed anything and then they'd give you an errand to do. It still happens, but not like how it used to be.

THIS! At least if it were this way then you wouldn't feel forced to do any because they would never ask unless you asked first. It would give you one other thing to do every day that's obviously completely optional and would get you an items or bells.

I feel the same way, I hardly get asked to do things by my villagers, and I never get asked to come over and they never invite themselves over. I feel like we’re not really friends so much with the villagers in new horizons as we are just neighbors. Especially because they seem to get mad a lot quicker when you talk to them. Well not mad, but if you talk to them twice too quickly then they get exasperated and I feel like I’m annoying them

I wish we could do tasks more often. I absolutely loved doing things for my villagers and now I always feel like I'm annoying them when I keep trying to get them to ask me to do something </3

i wish there were more expansion for villager dialogue and interactions the higher your friendship w a villager is ;; i agree that the current villager dialogue is v stilted and less interactive

Absolutely. It gave me something extra to do and sometimes the requests could be fun. And if they weren't I could always refuse them. They lobotomized the villagers too much in this game. They are just husks without any real emotion.

I want to like this game, but I have so many mixed opinions on it. It's such a disappointment. Terraforming cannot carry the entire game. At least not for me. Making a pretty town was never the allure of the franchise. It was developing a town, but also bonding with the villagers.

This just feels like Happy Home Designer 2.0. And now they expanded to outdoors. It feels less like it's part of the main franchise and a spin-off. The game also feels way too mobile in many approaches.

i actually really like the dialogue, what i don’t like is you have to spam them 3-5 times to get something that isn’t like “you were putting paths down yesterday cool!”

oh yeah and my villagers ask me to deliver stuff for them a lot!

I still get delivery requests and fish/bug requests relatively often. What I really miss is from back in the Wild World days when the villagers would have hobbies!! Like they'd tell you they were really into clothing for a while and keep asking you to bring them clothing, or furniture, etc. and then after a while they'd switch up their hobbies. That was cute. I also miss them inviting you to their house and asking you if they can visit yours.

I think usually you need to talk to your villager for 3-4 times, then they will ask you to deliver a package wrongly sent to them to the rightful owner. But on rare occasion, villager will ping you to send present to another villager. This is different from the usual wrong delivery, and it is quite rare. I played for 2 months half, and this kind of request only trigger 3 times for me.

Your villager A will actually ask you to send a present they choose for that villager B. After you send the present, that villager B will actually ask you whether they should open or not, if open, whether they should change into the clothing or not, and after changing, they will ask your opinion about the clothes. You can actually tell them it suit them or it doesn't suit them. Then, you can go back reply villager A and if villager B open and change into it and keep wearing, villager A will be very happy and they said they done a good job choosing that present.

Yes, this is how Flurry sent a green heart apron to Marshal and during that process I don't have the heart to said the gift does not suit Marshal when I think how happy Flurry would be. :ROFLMAO:

I miss the errands where I villager would ask me to go bring another villager to them or the sign a petition errand. Also I miss being invited to their houses and being able to buy furniture from their house so I can take out any furniture I gave them lol.

Dude I talk to my villagers all the time. But they never say anything at all. You guys saying you're getting requests and interesting dialogue out of the wazoo are just getting lucky.

I too was thinking it happens way less than in previous versions of the game... I do like the hide and seek games, but why do they always seem to occur when I have to log off or when I'm busy! Sods law right

I don't miss every first interaction with villagers in New Leaf being 'can you get me a piece of fruit pls' almost every time instead of having something interesting to say, no.

lol I never got it that many times. Still I do remember in NL they would ask me to do requests far more than I would like sometimes. I think they listened to us complain too much and just got rid of it all. Which is a shame.

I loved giving some of the villagers I hated rotten fruit. Man their reactions were funny.

I remember suggesting them to go back to the old ways of PG. They had the option of 'give me work!' which they could had changed up to 'Can I help you?' and you would be guaranteed a request instead of talking to your villager and immediately getting put to work when all you wanted to do was greet them.

Why is it so hard for them to listen to feedback?

I'm kinda glad we don't have to interact too much, they were always a hassle to do with villagers being all over town/island etc. so yeah lol.

I miss them so much. Been playing a lot of New Leaf the past few days and the interactions with villagers are so much better. Today I played less than half an hour and I was asked to do 4 things by my villagers. Visiting them, them visiting me, furniture requests, bug/fish requests... in New Horizons I've only been asked to do an errand a handful of times since release.

"Hey, can you deliver this package to the person who is standing right over there three feet away from here? K thx, please dont open."

No, I dont miss it, considering it's still here, but in a more tolerable frequency. It got very annoying in NL to the point I didnt want to talk to my villagers anymore.

I miss it because I spend most of my time doing favors. It broke up fishing for me. Now I just say hi to my villagers once a day. Its not the same. I dont miss the get me an apple from right here ones but it was still something to do.

This feature has been downplayed in every game from Wild World and beyond. I definitely miss the errand system from the GCN version. Back then, it felt like you always had a reason to talk to a villager, even if their dialogue was repetitive, because they might have something for you to do. Nowadays, you have pretty much no reason to talk to villagers at all - there's no option for asking for errands, and they say pretty much the same things every time.

Typically if they have an errand, I have to go through three or so of the same repetitive conversations to even get to them asking for it. Sometimes they'll have a bubble over their head and ask for a fish/bug, and that's nice, but also rare.

they still do ask you if your friendship with them is high enough. they also buy things you're carrying if it's really high. i actually like it this time that it's not as frequent.
what i miss is them visiting your house & them asking to visit theirs.
