Does anyone else let their villagers be random?

I like the surprise of random villagers and I find planning them and finding dreamies way too stressful and hard. I guess it's a bit annoying when the villager is really ugly or mean though!!

Like a lot of people said, it's not random villagers that bother me so much as where they put their house. In my very first town, I used to let villagers come and go and let them put their house wherever, and I ended up with some very ugly looking paths because the placement was too awkward. But I'm doing a themed town now, anyway, so I don't want to let my villagers go. :)

I used to let my villagers be random, but since New Leaf, I've been terrible with dream villagers! I love them too much to let them leave! </3

I let them be random and I was so lucky :) Houses are in good place too. I was building pwp in front of my house, the town hall, etc, to make sure no one would move there and it worked. I don't need everything to be perfectly lined up, and I guess I was very lucky

for the town i just started i am doing this! i am taking what the game gives and so far i've been given a lot of great villagers...pashmina, erik, julian. when i was striving obsessing for 'dreamies' i felt like my town was never good enough without them...now i just let it happen and i kind of like that!

of course not bashing anyone that chooses because that was me, like 5 days ago xD and i could change my mind again

I'll accept whoever decides to pop up in my town. All I really care about is having a full town of ten villagers, so I'll invite the first camper I see if I have anything less than that. They all tend to grow on me after a while anyways.

If I had a second copy of the game, I'd let my villagers be random, yeah. But in my main town, I want the houses to stay put so I can start landscaping and planning out where I want my PWPs to go; that's a lot more difficult when you have no idea when or where a new villager is going to show up. It's kind of like how everyone has their favorite pokemon or whatever (except obviously in pokemon there's no automatic move-in or move-out mechanic at play) for whatever their own personal reasons are. I'm the mayor, I wanna run this joint B)

I used to. But I'm the kind of person that likes everything to be precise and exactly how I want it to go. For this reason, there have been several times where even my dreamies change because the villagers have to be THE closest thing to what I want in my town. I wish I could have the mentality of liking random move ins and villagers. For some reason I loved the thrill of not knowing what villager you'd get in WW, but in NL when I first started playing... eeuugghhh... There were a good number of villagers that weren't worth going random move in mode. So I have dreamies, and I like it that way. c:

I tend not to care who moves in, but I really like to control who moves out. Roald is my precious and may never leave. Peewee was subject to my derision until the day he left :p

I don't control who moves in, because that is just one big disappointing and frustrating hassle for me...
I don't let them move out, if I don't want to, though...

ugh no i would never leave villagers up to chance, i have such a strict dreamie list haha! i hated seeing ugly villagers when there were ones i reaaally want, and once i finally get all of them (looking for Hamlet and Poppy lol) I'm never letting anyone move EVER mwahaha lol :lemon:

i talk to the villagers i want to stay in my town frequently and the rest once or twice or i just end up ignoring them lol.
sometimes i do the diving trick to get a villager to ping to move out though, but that's all really :p

I would love to have villagers constantly move in and out if I could choose where their house goes. Since they place their houses randomly, I'd rather just have a set villager list so I don't have to worry about my flowers every day I'm expecting a new villager.

I like to let them be random, though sometimes it's annoying, like Anchovy putting his house in a not so good place...
there's a few I don't wanna let go of, pretty much only Tammy at this point but if Tex pinged me to move, I'd make him stick around a bit longer.
