Does anyone design your island based on a series? (anime, tv show, video game, book, etc.)

I was watching some anime earlier today, and I'm semi-inspired to make an outdoor area based on it. I wish I could take inspiration based on lots of different things as well. I think I want to make my house inspired by the Ancient Magus Bride (I just started reading it!).

Are there any areas of your island based on something?

My town is super mario galaxy themed c: My island rep is named Starbit and my town is Lumaway (pronounced "Loomaway") and it's supposed to represent the starry and hazy vibes of SMG!

not my island itself but i have a room in my house based off of my favourite show ;u;

im basing my island off of Pla Enni in FFXIV and Ballonlea in Pokemon SW/SH. i was just going solely off of Pla Enni, but recently ive started up Pokemon again and Ballonlea is similar to it but more enchanted forest feeling.

I'm planning on decorating the outside of kiki's house with witch related stuff and mushroom furniture as a reference to kiki's delivery service! (such a good anime aahh)

My island name is based off an anime character, and I'm trying to recreate a few settings from a few different animes. I'm currently working on a Studio Ghibli themed section! I was really inspired by Your Lie in April, Toradora, Clannad, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Your name!

Not really, but I might go for it. Don’t know what I should do though.

Not exactly based off a particular piece of media but it is heavily influenced by the narrow streets and neighborhoods on cliffs that you see on ghibli movies... I've always been mesmerized by them and even in other games (like the sims) I tried to recreate the same feeling. When I saw we could terraform in acnh I felt I had a chance to make some real pretty stuff with that!

I tried to base mine off a book I read recently but it evolved into whatever furniture I can collect and spur of the moment thoughts ;-;

looooove this. when i was 5 my mom recorded kiki on vhs for me to watch and it is still my fave ghibli movie of all time. 🥺 i think abt kiki's artist friend ursula's house a lot when designing my interiors.

My island is based on Dragon Age. I wanted to think of a different theme for my island since this is the theme I used in ACNL, but I couldn’t think of anything, plus I wanted to use my Dragon Age QR codes that I made in HHD/ACNL, so I ended going with DA again lol. It was going to be based solely on Inquisition but I ended up making one area look like the Denerim “marketplace”. Am considering making a mini chantry in front of it.

I made the herald’s rest tavern, a tavern that’s in DAI and it’s pretty close to being done :). It looks so much better than how it turned out in HHD and ACNL, though I really miss the variety of food furniture items :/.

The area by my museum is very loosely based off the ruins where you can find the well of sorrows. It wasn’t initially planned this way and was just going to be some unspecific ruins, but as I was terraforming, moving trees around and trying some different furniture out, and taking in consideration of the pond that’s there, I thought I could turn it into that particular location in the game with some of my personal touch to it. Was originally just temporarily using the area for some of my fruit trees and a bunch of regular hardwood trees but once I moved around the trees and put part of the megalo fossil bbc there, I realized I might be able to make the area resemble some place.

I tried to make the campsite and another area resemble campsites in the game. I just incorporated some stone arches to try make the site look more interesting and like some random ruins, but might eventually change it.

My island is named after the Shire from The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, so my island is going to be roughly based off of that region. Because of the placement of my Resident Services, it's basically impossible to replicate the geography exactly (it's smack dab in the middle of where a river needs to go), but I'm planning on recreating notable landmarks and features where they roughly should be, and I'll be making Bag End, among other things.
