Was this something they added with the welcome amiibos? I played NL but went on hiatus shortly after welcome amiibos were introduced.

I did enjoy the game but if they brought it back I would really appreciate it being less dependent on amiibos. I don't have any amiibos which limited me to only being able to play with my villagers. If you aren't changing your villagers in your town you don't get to experience different characters abilities. And without different characters I think the re-playability goes way down.
I am also quite sure I have an extra Wii-U console on my New Leaf game so if anyone wants it you can DM me!![]()
Yeah I can't remember the specifics, but if you played your Wii U console it had micro games called Desert Island Escape and Puzzle League. I think if you played your NES you got a couple vintage Nintendo games too.
I guess it was a bit of an Amiibo cash grab...when they rolled those cards out I was all over them, so DIE never got boring for me, I had a near complete amiibo set so the possibilities were massive for me.
Give it to @Dunquixote so they can try it out![]()
Correction, the Wii U had Desert Island Escape and the 3DS had Puzzle League.Yeah I can't remember the specifics, but if you played your Wii U console it had micro games called Desert Island Escape and Puzzle League. I think if you played your NES you got a couple vintage Nintendo games too.

Thanks for elaborating!I don’t have a wii-u, but thanks for suggesting me to try it out with @deanapants
.
To clarify it's not on the Wii-U as in the real life console, it's on the Wii-U console item in the game! It's a furniture item that you place in your house http://moridb.com/items/furniture/wii-u-console You just walk up to it and interact with the item to start the mini game!
Oh okay. Thanks for clarifying!I don’t have that in the game either; I stopped playing before the item was released. I’m a bit afraid to come back to the game since i don’t think I did the “trick” last time i came on, to ensure none of my villagers moved ><

The NES consoles from the original game (assuming that's the one you're talking about) only had 1 retro game each (whose boxart was visible at all times), but there were 20 of them available.
Well, it did come from an amiibo cash grab game after all (it was originally part of amiibo Festival on the Wii U). I'm glad that the 3DS port/version didn't force you to use amiibo to be able to play the minigame, seeing as they made it so you could just use your town's current villagers instead. It's a bit of a shame that they didn't port all of the other minigames though; some of them could have been good time wasters on the go.
Not necessarily; your in-game villagers can be used in DIE. The other one doesn't need them at all, I think you could only use special NPCs for special boosts or power ups, but the game was easy enough without them.I never played this mini game, I assume you had to have amiibo cards for it? (which I dont have)
