Do your villagers ever give you real art?

Kid Cat mailed me a painting this morning and it was real.

Smugs always give you fakes I think. I wonder why...

Nate gifted me a real Amazing Painting (which in the museum is HUGE, by the way). I'm just confused on how and why he had it? Where was he keeping it? You don't just suddenly remember you own that and then ship it off to your friend.

I think I've only ever gotten one real piece of art from Fang, I've also had a couple of fakes but I don't remember who gifted them to me! haven't gotten any in a while though

I usually get art from crankies. Sometimes I get art from lazies and jocks but not very often. Usually I just milk Redd for all he's worth until I get tired of it

I've never received any art from a villager before either, but then again I haven't really tried by gifting them all the time.

I only got one piece of art via mail from a villager so far. I can't remember who sent it to me, but it was a real one.

shortly after redd and artwork were added, dobie sent me a genuine great statue! that’s the only piece of artwork that i’ve ever received from my villagers but i’m definitely glad for it, especially since the statues seem to be hard to come by aha ;v;

Yep! Tybalt sent me a real painting once.
Both Sherb and Spike sent me fake statues. Spike actually sent a Valiant Statue which I sold lol
Curlos sent me something but it was fake bc Smugs always send fakes.

I've gotten one or two authentic things from Dobie... though I forget what exactly (the Nefertiti bust was one, I believe, but I forget the in-game name). I remember the letters mentioned they were collecting dust, but he got a new dust collector

I was actually surprised when I got a fake from him, since I thought they were always real!

I am now regretting not taking a screenshot of the letter and present since I am pretty sure I did get a real statue from either Tex or Raymond, as well as the comment that I swore I read stated the lazies and smugs always gave real art. >< I had been under the impression that they always do this whole time since both sherb and punchy gave me real art.

I'm guessing it's random whether or not the art is real. Maybe some personalities always give real, but I think cranky at least can potentially give both.

The only other villagers that gave me art was Rudy and it was a fake; never got art from my normals, peppies or cranky.

I think you might be right since I paid pretty close attention to the mail with art attached. If I am correct, then I’m guessing in spite what the data miner said, that maybe just more people have been reporting that smugs and lazies gave only fake art. I’ll keep an eye out for more though and will post again here or in another thread for sure.

Yes, I’ve gotten 4 art 1 statue from my villagers. All but statue was real.

i received a real painting from genji a while ago, and then a real statue from someone else... i was pleasantly surprised!

I have received art from villagers twice, once from a jock and once from a cranky. Both times they ended up being real art. Which is fortunate for them because if they gave me fake art I might let them move out lol

I would hate getting fake art so much in previous games. How DARE anyone embarrass me in front of Blathers like that!

I've been hearing about this but I guess my friendship level isn't high enough with any of my villagers? I need to start giving them mroe presents lol.
