Do you think it matters where you caught the creatures you donate? I avoid catching creatures in others towns in case they're in a different timezone/tt-ing and also because I'm generally just there to trade! But do you find it important whether they're caught on your own island, or on a dodo tour or whatever they're called now?
Hmmm, I never thought about it honestly! Everything is caught on my island though, just cause I don't go on island tours, and when I do trades 90% of them take place on my island, so I never really leave! but when I do go to others places, it's to do one thing and leave lol so I don't stick around to fish or bug hunt!! I also TT a lot so I catch stuff randomly all the time :b
Very interesting topic tho! would love to see if more people stick to catching what hops and swims around their own island waters!
It doesn’t matter to me. We have two islands, 1 NH and 1 SH. It is nice to catch bugs off season on one island while visiting the other island. And it is faster to complete the museums.
I catch my fish and bugs and sea creatues at my island and mystery islands, I wouldn't dare catch any outside of my island + mystery islands. I'd rather be natural about it.
I only catch bugs and fish on my island or mystery islands. I caught a beetle on a TT island once but I didn't dontate it. I rather wait until the actual month irl to catch bugs and fish so I have something to do each month. Even when I TT, I stay on the current month or months I've experienced before.
Two NH island in real time catch bugs/fish on my island or a mystery island. I have 5 players and all catch bug/fish and diving creatures for the month. For the extra players I find it easier to go to a mystery island. Pier fishing is easier with no bait and it's quiet there.
I only catch on my island and mystery islands, and I will only catch in other towns if they are at the same date I'm at (Usually, it's always doubles so nothing from those gets donated). I personally do not catch anything that is out of my current season, because then once I get to that season, I'll have nothing to do. I like experiencing these things on MY island.
i’ve mostly caught stuff on my own island but for the more rare bugs and fish, i’ll attempt to catch them on island tours, too, since those islands are easier and quicker to manipulate into an ideal setting to catch what i’m looking for than my island is ;u;
nope. i never even thought about it this way tbqh. i just catch whatever, wherever i am as long as it's things that i'm still missing or the expensive bois. gotta make spare change lol.
during the first 3 months i wanted to catch creatures that are in season and take note what is leaving, but i don't care for it anymore i just catch whenever and if it's something new then i donate..
I have no issues tting, just don't do it often cause of things i am setting up. so catching on others islands was no problem for me when I was down to needing 4 more to finish. glad i found someone currently in september and finally completed my museum
I've found most of the seasonal bugs on my own island since I don't go to mystery tours often unless it's to chop wood. I don't TT for bugs and fish but I don't mind catching it at a TT town or an SH town!
I give no concern whatsoever to where I catch the fish or bugs.
I haven't been on Nook Miles Island with any regularity in the past few months after getting the initial three Lazy, Normal and Peppy villagers, save for a visit to one recently to get some wood and stone, clay, and iron. I caught my first blue marlin on my best friend's island, and since my game is a month behind (I time travel, and at the time of this occurring, my town was still in June to finish getting wedding items I wanted) I caught some of my first cicadas on another friend's island. I donated the marlin and the cicadas to my museum and didn't give it a second thought.
I'm not really one to impose such restrictions on myself in these games. Blathers is none the wiser regardless, and museum progress is museum progress.
Donated items are only caught on my island or a mystery tour. The only time I've fished or caught bugs on someone else's island was on the early days because I needed bells to buy something in a shop.
The only things that might not come from my island are pieces of artwork, but I only donate items I've bought from Redd, not from other players.
I know it doesn't really matter, but it's a point of pride for me to donate everything "legitimately".
So far, majority of the summer beetles were caught from island tours because I can exploit bug spawns by chopping and destroying everything down, and just leaving the palm trees.
