I used to time travel in the previous versions, but i haven't so far in ACNL. Lately I've been getting increasingly tempted.. As it is, I'm happy using tricks like plot resetting, and I've tried the villager ping reset trick, i buy stuff off people on here that i can't yet get, and stuff.. For me, i want to because it means i can complete public works projects whenever i want, grow more hybrids, expand my house more quickly, get more villagers from my campsite, upgrade to the final nook shop more quickly. But I'm worried that if i do, the game will get boring as i wont have to wait for things, and I'll be able to use the money cheat so i wont really need to work for things. But then maybe it would still be fun because itd be more about designing my town than earning the money and waiting for the time to do so? I dont know. I guess I'm asking - do you time travel? And if you do, has it negatively impacted your gameplay at all? If so, how? If not, why do you enjoy time travelling? And if you don't, are you glad you don't? What do you find are the benefits of not time travelling? Also, in your opinion do you think it would be worth it for me to start time travelling? I know its up to me but I'm just so stuck aaaahhh

pretty sure there's an option somewhere to make this a poll.. But I'm on my phone so i don't know if i can. Any answers are really appreciated, thanks in advance!

I do TT, but I've never done the money cheat. I only started TTing to cycle villagers, and I honestly don't even TT that much; only when someone's going to move out. I made money by selling Tia, and as I get popular villagers I'll start selling those too. I don't find the game boring at all; in fact, I find myself playing more than I did before. Now I don't have to sit and play the waiting game, and I can get a lot accomplished. I was bored when I didn't TT, but now that I TT, I can't put the game down.

For my first month or so of ACNL, I used to time travel a lot. But now I don't anymore. I used to do it to:

-Get Nook's Homes to open so I could order a house expansion
-Get public work projects done
-Get an ordinance into effect

But now I don't do it anymore because:

-I shake my fruit trees almost every day, and I was tired of doing it again after time travelling
-I was tired of weeds appearing
-I was tired of flowers dying, because I never really watered them (now I do because I have a golden watering can)
-One time when I time traveled to the future, I didn't know time travelling made turnips spoil, and I learned that the hard way

Basically turnips stopped me from time travelling. The last time I time traveled was because Nook's homes was closed just after I paid off my home loan, so I time traveled about 10 minutes back because I didn't wanna wait until the next day to order my expansion.

I used to not time travel, then I gave into the temptations. I only TT at most 2 days forward or back, and it's usually to get a villager to move, or finish something I'm eager to get done. I haven't really seen any negativity, a few weeds here and there but that's about it. I think it's fine in minimal amounts depending what for.

I used to in old games, but in NL I've started buying turnips every week to pay dem billz and I don't want to waste money only to make them rot. If you have the Beautiful Town Ordinance, I don't think you have to worry about flowers much. I can't be certain, because I always enact the Night Owl one due to school, but doesn't it make it so flowers don't wilt as often? The other cons can be villagers you like moving out, weeds, and if you go too far I think you can still get that huge flower I can never spell the name of (Looks a bit like the flower on the back of Venasaur).

I TT and I've never experienced any negative effects. As long as you have the beautiful town ordinance flowers will never wilt and there will be fewer weeds that grow. If you have turnips, never TT backwards and make sure you sell them before Sunday. Make sure you remember to talk to your villagers often as well. I only TT one day at a time so I don't have to be too worried about any of them leaving without me knowing, but if you TT more than that the risk increases. I honestly find the game more boring when I don't TT though.

I only time traveled right before I reset today so I could cycle out my villagers. Although I may have to time travel because my town is 1 day and 6 minutes behind real time.

I don't think I will time travel more because I don't want to destroy my town or get bored.

I TT a year forward sometimes to get rid of all the random dirt patches, or to speed up the growth of all my plants; I'll time travel a few months in advance. I always time travel after someone asks me to move and I tell them to stay because then I am guaranteed not to lose a villager. Also, I can time travel back to my current day without losing a villager as well. There are 0 repercussions to me time traveling because I have literally every single spot in my town covered with something, it's great.

I do a bit of time travel in my main town. Usually if I was busy and missed getting into my shops or to get rid of an unwanted villager.

I have a second town for time travel. I farm perfect peaches there. I'm not bored by having more Bells. It just means I have more time for villagers and fish and bugs and other things.

I used to, until I got all my dream villagers. That's really the only reason I time traveled in the first place, but WHILE I was doing that I usually did other things too, so now my house is fully expanded and I have a full main street. Honestly, unless you actually know what to do while you have neither of those things then I applaud you and those are the people who usually do not time travel and are happy with whatever comes. I guess it's because I'm a perfectionist.

I TT every time I play. I only do one day at a time, though. Haven't experienced any negative effects of it, so I don't see why I should stop. I think that when my town is how I want it to look & I have all the villagers I want, then I'll just start playing normally. Until then, I shall TT away~

I only time-traveled once. I didn't play from mid-December until mid-March. Things got crazy at work and I kept saying to myself "I'll play tomorrow, I'll play tomorrow." Didn't happen! So when I started up again in March (I almost restarted because all my flowers died) I realized I had missed Festivale by 5 or 6 days so I went back that far, and then time-traveled forward until I caught up with the correct date. I don't regret doing it (and I'm super glad to be done with Pave), but I don't think I'll do it again. I like playing in real-time. :) Also, I think time-traveling made my Town Tree shrink. Which is annoying.

The only time I really TT is to fix my grass.
I mean, I've being doing it a lot lately because I've been frequently resetting and setting my date back to January, but once I catch up....yea. Just to fix grass.

no. i do occasionally time travel if a villager is moving out and i'm getting a villager i want on here. every once and a while i'll time travel a few hours for turnips and mail

Thanks for all the responses! Actually quite surprised at how many people don't time travel, i was under the impression that almost everyone did!

Gah, it's SO tempting to start time travelling, i think the only thing stopping me is that if i do time travel, even just once, i can't really say that i don't time travel in this town.. I kind of like waiting for things to grow and building up my town slowly.. But i just want to hurry up and make my town beautiful, haha! I guess it's good being able to come on here and buy things at least.. Ugh i dont know what i wanna do i feel like this shouldn't be such a big deal why am i so indecisive?! But yeah.. I think i might leave it for now and see how it goes. But thanks for all the responses, you're welcome to keep posting answers!

I rarely time travel, but when I do, it's just to catch the main street shops or special visitors. If I didn't see anything too important, I resume back to original time. It's really your choice how you want to play your game.
