I will for some months at a time but then I'll get back into it and super obsessed lol (that's just my personality). I was really burnt out a month or two ago so I'm sort of surprised that my interest came back again so soon!!! I'm really enjoying this town though and it's helped that I joined this forum. There is so much more to do now than when I was just playing by myself (or occasionally with my sister). I'm sure I will get burnt out again but hopefully a new AC is just around the corner ;>
It's been a couple of years, but I haven't yet! If I do lose interest, I can't see it being a permanent thing. After all, I recently got back into Wild World and I'm enjoying it again after being away a few years.
Hasn't happened in over two years, so I don't expect it'll happen any time soon.
I know there are people who get bored and reset once their towns are "complete", but I love seeing my villagers every day. They can always make me smile when my anxiety gets kinda bad.
I always lose interest, it usually takes roughly 3 months to come back and the phases change and such. I think this has been my longest phase since the game came out this forum and a friend that recently got into the game has spurred a lot of my motivation to play.
I go in and out. Sometimes I lose complete interest for months but then pick it right back up again... though it seems it's always at the worst times. I wish that I picked up interest in the summer but instead it seems to happen during the winter when finals and projects are happening at school. Right now, I'm at the phase where I can't put it down because the forest I'm working on is HIGHLY addictive.
To be completely honest, I have lost a lot of interest in it considering how much it meant to me when I started my acnl file! I think that when you achieve what you want your town to look like and are satisfied with all your villagers, things get a little bit slower and personally it made me feel less interested in playing... all i do daily is talk to the villagers, see what's for sale then that's it, there isnt much more to do anymore...
I've lost interest but I'm trying to get back into it. I play once in a while to stop villagers from moving out. Recently, I failed and Poncho got away
I burned out on NL after it came out. I was playing around 6-8 hours a day and it was crazy. I took about 9 months out - no particular reason, I just didn't see any reason to play. Then I started playing again for a few months, then got bored and put it down again. So this is try number 3 for me. But I'm enjoying it. Some of my old friends have gotten back into it too which is nice.
I had first stopped when I lost my cartridge, but then I bought another copy after about a month, played that for a while and then got bored, and then waited a few months till I actually wanted to play again, started playing again, found my other copy, started playing both, then I got HHD and now I haven't played it again in some time, but I am planning on getting back into it.
I've been playing NL for almost a year and a half and I haven't lost interest yet. I'm sure I will sometime, like when a new Animal Crossing game comes out.
I burned out badly twice.
Ten months after the release, playing from 9 to 16 hours (I'm serious! Don't do this kids, it ain't healthy) a day, I was frustrated and unsatisfied with my old town. Everything was a chore. I stopped playing for almost a year I believe? I felt guilty, even, but the idea of going back to a town I wasn't happy with didn't appeal. The only reason I didn't reset at the time was because of all the accomplishments and villagers I liked.
After that, I went back and played sporadically. After I just had finished the 16-villager cycle to get Erik back, I decided to reset.
That was my second burn out. I played like CRAZY, sending all my items and catalog, getting clovers, transferring some villagers. It was a very dull and boring job, took hours and hours, so I got tired after two months or so. At least I finished sending everything to my new town, and did some landscaping.
Now, I'm back a third time, a lot more laid-back. I don't plan to do the same crazy 10-hour days I did before. I'm focusing on getting badges and landscaping in a more moderate pace.
