Do you think they will bring back collab villagers?

You get posters based on the sanrio character they're based on, but not of them, sadly. I really hope they and all the other crossover villagers come back! I also hope someday we get Zelda posters and stuff similar to the sanrio ones, I was really sad when I found out the sanrio villagers give you posters but the other ones don't give you anything at all.

Oh I’ll have to go check my catalog then again. I’d like to have Epona again as well. That’s a bummer. Maybe some day! The fact that the game recognizes the cards gives me hope!

I definitely picture them bringing back the former crossovers as they catch up on implementing old staples like Brewster's and gyroids. It would be exciting to see them do Smash Bros styles announcements and add a few new sets of villagers.

Yeah, Marty is the pompompurin-inspired villager so if you scanned him in you'll get a pompompurin poster under special goods -> posters in your catalogue. I'm pretty hopeful the sanrio villagers will come back someday tbh since those posters exist and the villagers themselves made it into pocket camp, but I'm less sure about the nintendo ones--which is strange given that their properties are, well, nintendo-owned and Splatoon even shares a dev team with AC. You'd think their cards figures (why did I say cards at first omg, zelda and splatoon amiibo don't have cards!) would give you Zelda and Splatoon posters or something but nope Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Omg really? Maybe the posters in the game are based on those stickers! If they are then that's so cute. And yeah, I'm really hoping for Etoile back, I have her in NL still but I wanna see her singing and naruto running and reading and just being adorable on my island too. Wolf Link and Epona too, I miss them.

I keep low key hoping they will. I love Etoile so much. And the furniture sets are fun. They should at least put the Splatoon collabs in and make some more just to get some more octopus villagers in.

i have a feeling that if they do, it'll likely be combined with a release - like if they bring back the splatoon ones it'll be for some sort of splatoon thing, like an in game event. or like they may bring back wolf link and epona for botw 2, something like that. i feel like it isn't very high priority though since amiibo isn't nearly as big or advertised as it used to be, like their main reason for adding those characters in the first place was because they wanted to add more amiibo capability for the update since that was the update's main focus, so idk if they'd bother with adding them unless they did a special amiibo release (which they'll probably make new amiibo cards, idk about new amiibo statues but i'd kill for flick and cj), and even then i feel it's unlikely.

tl;dr: kinda doubt it but it'd be really cool if they did.

She shares my RL name and is literally perfect for me- perfect color scheme, perfect personality (Normal is my fav villager type), perfect pink aesthetic. She is dreamy.

I hope so! Promo villagers aren't really my thing, but I like the idea.
I think adding Pokemon villagers would be an obvious choice Aren't there plenty of Smash pokemon amiibo? (not too well-versed on this)

I hope if they do, they wouldn't pick obvious choices for the species (ex lucario=wolf). Like, no one expected the Hello Kitty villager to be a gorilla, or the Keroppi villager a bunny. I think it's much more interesting that way. Where's the pikachu hippo, y'all.

I was sort of out of New Leaf by time they brought all the collab villagers into the game. I would really die to have Wolf Link on my island. So hopefully they bring them back for New Horizons.
